UPDATES [10:15pm, 05.11.10] : Just read that a staff of Taewon Entertainment has denied the rumor of Hyun Joong's participation in the drama this afternoon though his name was mentioned to be part of the drama. The staff also said there was NO meeting whatsoever yet but did not deny the fact that there is a staff that is very close to Hyun Joong. Also, according to this staff, discussion about Hyun Joong getting involve in the drama will only start when Hyun Joong's contract with DSP has been settled.

Some news portals today are reporting that Kim Hyun Joong will be joining the cast of 'Athena'.
'Athena' is said to be the spin off of 'Iris' which was a big hit in Korea starring Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Hee with Top [Big Bang] in it. 'Athena' is not going to be the sequel of 'Iris' as there is going to be 'Iris2'.
'Athena' is getting a lot of attention as it has just been confirmed that Park Su Ae will be the female lead, joining her are actors Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won and Lee Ji Ah [she's under the agency of BYJ, BOF (Boundaries of Forest)] in the action-packed blockbuster drama series. 'Athena' will start at the latter half of the year, and will begin filming in June
In the reports that I've been reading it was said that Hyun Joong has been meeting with the production team [Taewoon Entertainment] several times regarding his role.
Meanwhile, where there is NO official confirmation from Hyun Joong and DSP about this, let's just wait for further development. But if you ask me, I'm not excited about this one despite some of the big names joining the drama. I'd rather that he focuses first on their comeback before any drama or movie. This is just my opinion. Oh well, probably it if it's another project other than 'Athena', I'll be more excited. ^_^ But... but... but... again, whatever he decided on later, i'll be supporting him all throughout.

Leader some how hinted some movement in June... ah....I am soooooooo excited and hoping this can come true.
Why? I'm waiting for news of 'Dream high'... Well anyway, whatever makes him happy, i'll support him.
ReplyDeleteThis maybe the project he asked BYJ for an advice. He likes to be in this kind of a role. I think he did very well on their MV for their solo collection. I would like to see him in this although I don't think it is the main lead which is good bec he can still continue with SS501 promo.

I think this the "2012" gift he is pertaining to. I will support Leader & watch his drama wether the lead role or not. He will also learn from veterans actors that he will be working with. I have a good feeling on this. I hope he will accept it.

I'm not excited about this drama either. I'm usually not a big fan of spin-off and sequel. But I guess it will be a good experience for him to act with senior actors. I'll support it of course. I was excited and looking forward to Dream High tough :(

Everybody is expecting Dream High. It was planned by BYJ & JYP for the longest time but there seems to be no movement. I doubt this project is ever going to be filmed this year. It is also planned to casts new talents or newcomers that is why it is called Dream High and JYP may already have those talents training with his agency.
ReplyDeleteYes ,this Athena drama is another genre for KHJ to try acting in it and surely he might pick up tips from seasoned actors . Is the role similar to Top's which they say is merely to attract younger fans (his fans )and as somebody said here is minimal ? On the other hand ,if it is minimal then the burden is not heavy considering his many commitments foremost of which is SS501 activities.
ReplyDeleteLike most ,I'm looking forward to Dream High if indeed he is being considered for it . But I doubt if he consults w/ BYJ on this Athena project -2 long meetings with BYJ who is a busy businessman ? Well, maybe just an aside in their other serious concerns .

I think it will be OK forhim to take this drama since it's yes it's been so long since BOF ended..and he has to learn from the best if he really wants to act (and as they say cast of Athena are seasoned veterans that's a good way to learn...from the best

Reactions flew fast left and right -pro and anti-then we get the latest that there was no meeting at all -what's this ? What's and who is behind all these rumor mongering ? They are just putting KHJ in a spot.But knowing KHJ -he must be rolling in laughter. Someone just want to put KHJ in the news even if they invent them .

Eumors are rumors but some people are jumping into this and helped create a bandwagon effect to put down KHJ.I really like to see responsible blogging that do not encourage reactions to lambast a person even before the actual activity take place -the thing is it may not even take place at all (Athena participation). Assuming KHJ did not do a good job at BOF (which I do not buy )does that mean all future acting will be as bad ? Why condemn the person for the rest of his acting days ? There is arrogance for some who think since they can write/blog they can then have the liberty to put derogatory labels on people's abilities.Social media rears its ugly head .
