I've been doing quite a few posts on the mannerisms of the SS501 members. Have you seen the pout series? What about the tongue sticking out series? Well, if you missed that, just type in the search engine [you can find it on the sidebar] pout series and tongue sticking out and you'll be direct to all the posts related to those subjects. ^_^

Alright, with that, here's another mannerism that SS501 members do a lot. It's lip biting.

Biting lip is simply cute and sexy. All members of SS501 do it. I'm not just sure whether they are nervous or trying to gather up strength but think that it's the best nervous habit that one can develop.

I've here photos of SS501 members doing sexy lip biting. Amongst the five Kyu Jong has the most photos, followed by Young Saeng. I have two of Jung Min and one of Maknae. I've seen Hyun Joong biting his lips in many of the clips but I don't have any photos on him biting his lip in my file. Anyone care to share?

after more than a year

I was supposed to post something but decided to post that later when I happen to check my video files and found again this video that I have.

This is one of my favorite performances of SS501 of 'U R Man'. I find this really special because SS501 granted fans wish to perform together in December 2008. As most of you know, sometime November [or was it October?] SS501 members started doing their solo activities, Hyun Joong for 'Boys Over Flowers', Jung Min for 'Grease' and Maknae, Kyu Jong and Young Saeng formed the sub-unit.

When fans started spamming DSP webby and after reading the thousands of messages left for them, Kim Hyun Joong and Park Jung Min rescheduled their pre-arranged activities to rehearse and perform for this special stage of 'U R Man' on Music Core.

Park Jung Min in 'Intimate Note 3' 010110

Did you see 'Intimate Note' where Jung Min and Brian Joo are amongst the MCs? Well, I've watched it and didn't enjoy watching it except whenever Jung Min is on the screen which is very rare and the camera is far from him.

2009 for SS501

I found this very interesting post by Hyssop on SS601.com. I'm not sure if it came from an article or she composed it. Just by looking at the photos, you can easily say that it's a summary of SS501 accomplishments in 2009.

I won't be doing a word for word translation as my knowledge in hangul is very bad. But I will try my best to share with you how I understand the article/photos.

2009 is another milestone for SS501. They've made a comeback not with a bang but rather slowly. They started off by doing individual projects.

SS501 Sub Unit [Young Saeng, Kyu Jong and Hyung Joon]



For the sub-unit which is composed of Young Saeng, Kyu Jong and Maknae they successful put SS501 in the chart even if they lack two members by having 'U R Man' under their belt. With the catchy song, sexy and yet easily to follow dance steps, suave looking young men in fine clothing, they were able to bag mutizens awards.

With 'U R Man', the young looking men showcased their talent not only in singing and dancing as a group but also their ability to write songs.

'Grease' - Park Jung Min


Jung Min who stared in the musical 'Grease' as Danny is another story. With Jung Min in 'Grease' the musical was ranked No. 1. His popularity as a solo artist cannot be denied. All his performances were all sold out. Fans from Japan even flocked to see him perform.

'Boys Over Flowers' - Kim Hyun Joong


'Boys Over Flowers' came towards the end of 2008. In this drama Hyun Joong made a name for himself as an actor. There is no denying that Hyun Joong's appearance in 'Boys Over Flowers' brought him to another level. Which also made SS501 more popular in and outside of South Korea. 'Boys Over Flowers' highest program rating was at 35.7%. Did you know that amongst the scenes in BOF the most widely viewed were mostly the scenes of Yoon Ji Hoo? You may check the data HERE.

On March 31, to thank the fans, Hyun Joong decided to gather 5,000 of his fans at the Seoul Olympic Stadium to watch the final episode of BOF. This event was called 'Goodbye Yoon Ji Hoo'. In this event, we saw the reunion of all SS501 members . It marked the 'ending' of their separtion.


Awards


Then came the awards. Sometime in February SS501 sub unit won the HanRyu Special Awards in the 18th Seoul Music Awards. In March Hyun Joong won New Best Actor in the 45th Baeksang Awards. While in September Hyun Joong bagged the Best Actor award in Seoul Drama Awards.


SS501 Solo Collection Album


July, SS501 Solo Collection Album was released. It featured the solo songs of each members. The album lacked promotion but Maknae and Jung Min were able to do stage in some music shows.


Acting for Kyu Jong


Then we discovered Kyu Jong's acting skills. We saw him acting first in the MV 'Woman Is Like That' by singer Kim Dong Hee. Afterwhich we saw him in a cute 16 episodes webtoon 'Search for Extra Terrestrail Intelligence' [SETI] with Seo Hyo Rim which garnered a lot of viewerships.


DJ Jjoon on Music High


For Maknae, he's been doing really good DJing in Music High. The show has been running I guess for 9 months now every 2am over at SBS radio. He's been doing pretty good and I really hope that the show stays longer despite it's graveyard shift.


Young Saeng's Two OST Songs. [I'm going to include this accomplishments of Young Saeng though it was not included in the post that I saw on SS601.com]

If I remember correctly, Young Saeng has two song's this year included in 2 dramas OST. The first one is 'Go Wipe Your Tears' that is included in the OST of the drama 'Friends, Our Legend' And the other one is 'I love You... I'm Sorry...' included in the OST of 'Will it Snow on Christmas.


1st Asian Persona Tour


1st Asian Persona Tour kicked off in August 1 for 2 nights in Seoul. Followed by another 2 concerts in Japan a week after. After Japan next stop was in Taiwan in October then, Shanghai in November then Hong Kong in December. All Persona concerts were highly successful. It's an attestation that SS501 has already conquered Asia.


REBITH the mini album


While in the middle of doing concerts, SS501 released their mini album 'REBIRTH' after almost 2 years.

'REBIRTH' showed us a different SS501. They're more mature and exude sexiness and a lot of charsima.

'Love Like This' is their carrier single. With 13 stage performances that made us all giddy and happy, 13 changes of attire to satisfy our pleasure while they do their dance routine, 3 mutizen awards, over 100,000 copies sold, with only one fans event in Seoul, their sexy voice, handsome face, long legs in tight jeans, smile that could turn our knees jelly 'REBIRTH' had their last stage last November.


Asia Buzz Awards [This part was also not on the original post on SS601.com]

Just last December in Hong Kong, SS501 as a group received the award for Asia Top Buzz Group Award. While Kim Hyun Joong got the honor of winning 3 awardsand they are Asia Top Buzz Male Artist, Top Buzz Korean Artist and Netizen Chosen Top Male Artist.

There it goes, 2009 for SS501. Quite an accomplishment, right? My congratulations to SS501 for their hardwork.

Not included above are the fan meetings in Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Beijing. Likewise, there is also their endorsements, other TV shows [The M, Good Cookery of Expedition, Green Gold] and other activities such as their trips to the US.

2010 looks to be another busy year for SS501. I believe that this year will be a much better year for these fine looking, talented young men.

P.S. In 2009, Hyun Joong was in and out of the hospital due to injury and sickness. If I'm not mistaken he was hospitalized 4 times [2 during BOF, before trip to Thailand for photoshoot and H1N1, correct me please if Im wrong]. I remember in 2008 he was hospitalized too. First was when he had an accident while peforming Deja Vu and the seond one was when he took an overdose of sleeping pills. I wish that in 2010, Hyun Joong would learn how to take care of himself and will avoid going to hospitals]

Hyun Joong is one of the top earners in 2009

I read this news on ALLKPOP and I'm really quite surprised to know that Kim Hyun Joong is included in the Top 10 Earners of 2009 based on the December 30th report of tvN ENEWS.

For a solo artist with only a 5 years experience in singing and dancing and a year in acting this is such a huge accomplishment.

If you noticed, the list above includes name of group idols and veteran actors and MCs. Only Rain and Hyun Joong are the solo performers. Year 2009 definitely has been a good year for Hyun Joong. With this good fortune, he was also able to bring SS501 along with him . Alright, I hope no one will contest to what I am going to write. P.S. Again guys, let me reiterate that I'm not saying that ONLY because of Hyun Joong's own effort that SS501 is getting popular, okay? I just want to be clear of that. Each member did their own share as well. It's a collective effort. But I think that Hyun Joong has reached a more broader market since BOF was shown in many countries. And I think that it helped SS501 a lot when they decided to penetrate the Asian market.

So Ji Sub is Best Actor... Congratulations!

Before SS501 came into the picture [actually they've been there since 2006 i just happen to be a silent fan], So Ji Sub is known to be my 2nd best man in Korea next to Bae Yong Joon. ^_^ But he got pushed back by many notches now. But despite that, I still like him. He's not only good looking, tall and has a good physique but he also is a very good actor.

I happen to be watching SBS and KBS Drama Awards alternately last night to see how the dramas that I've watched in 2009 are fairing. I'm happy to catch a glimpse of Ji Sub accepting his award for winning the in the Best Actor category.

Congratulations to So Ji Sub for bagging the Best Acting Award [Male] for his role in 'Cain & Abel' [hee, i did blogged about C&A when it was showing as I was also part of the subbing team of WithS2].

We finally bid 2009 good bye and say hello to 2010. I've so much to be thankful for and few things to change in 2010.

It has been a really good year for me though I've my share of down moments. But I thank the Lord for giving me the strength to overcome them and face life in a more positive way. I've learned that one should not live with so much regrets in life. One should always be positive, forgiving, understanding, patient, and full of love no matter what life brings us. We are the author of our own life story. So it is really up to us how we want our life to be.

In 2009, I've traveled quite a lot this year domestically and internationally. I've met so many friends be in through internet [via my blog] and in person. It's so nice knowing all of you. Our friendship has been bridge by our love either through Bae Yong Joon or SS501.

This is also a year of discovery for me. I've discovered something that I possess but never knew about it. With friends encouragement, self motivation, inspiration I was able to bring out this talent that I never really knew I have. It makes me feel really good. It gives me so much pleasure and a sense of fulfillment.

In my three years of blogging, I think that this is the year that I've blogged so much. I started this blog blogging mostly about Bae Yong Joon. But since this year there's nothing much about him and that SS501 has again caught my attention and made me come out of my shell, SS501 members have occupied a big chunk of space in my blog. With this, I have come to a decision to change the title of my blog starting tomorrow to be fair to those following my blog before [Baesisters] and now [pretty green peas].

Just to clear things, I'm not going to stop blogging about Bae Yong Joon [there is still BYJ thread at soompi to manage and in 2010 Yong Joon might have a big project] , I'm just changing the title of my blog. Bae Yong Joon remains to be there whether you believe it or not. He still occupies a big space in my heart. It's just that my blog will be shared with other Korean artists. Not just only SS501 but others as well especially if I feel like blogging about any of them.

As we witness now the ending of 2009 and the beginning of 2010, I wish everyone only the BEST in the coming year. One of the major keys to achieving a good year is abundance of love.
