location hunting in france

remember in wls drama series when jun sang left for NY to have his operation and yu jin went to france to study? since 'wls animation' is a prologue of the 'wls drama series', scenes from the animation will have yu jin studying in france. ^^

seems like the production [animators?] team of 'wls the animation' is busy hunting location to be used in the manga series. the wls animation website was updated today. it now includes france photo album [after new york]. ^^ click here to view.

another slow saturday

yup quite another quiet day in baeland today. it seems to be the trend whenever weekend comes.

but at 2pm today yong joon was spotted in downtown seoul. he's wearing a hat, aviator's sunglasses, white shirt, black jeans and black knit. he's in a good mood just like the weather and the sling is gone. [thanks to mariko for the last sentence ^^]

i think this is the same knit and aviator's glasses that he's wearing today as reported by attour7387. yong joon wore this in japan in june when he arrived at the studion for the megane ichiba cf.

there were several articles today that came out regarding 'drops of god'. according to the articles, the drama adapation of Kami no Shizuku is expected to begin filming in the earlier part of 2009, will aim to not just broadcast in Korea, but possibly Japan, China, Asian markets and even worldwide and that Bae Yong Joon will be taking on three roles in the production, the planner, the producer and actor. lee ji ah attended the presscon of 'beethoven virus' together with kim myung min and jang geun suk. she also played the violin together with the orchestra under the baton of kim myung min.

i like what she wore during the mini performance and at the interview. i will upload videos later.

btw, in the interview by the press, yong joon's name was mentioned again [same with the case of ji sub during the 1st presscon of 'rough cut'] and it's already in the news. i will share later the translation of what ji ah said about yong joon. ^^

2 bof artists will have their big day next week. lee ji ah's drama 'beethoven virus' will be broadcasted on the 10th of september on MBC while so ji sub's movie 'rough cut' will be shown in theaters on the 11th of september.

i saw a post tonight on byjgallery from dcinside byj thread that style posted. it's about an encounter of a non-byj fan at a cafe in Chongdam Dong. remember i blogged earlier that he was seen in a coffee shop?

here's the gist of the story...

a non-byj fan accidentally met yong joon at a cafe this afternoon in chongdam dong. according to her post, there were about 2 to 3 tables of japanese in the same cafe. she described yong joon as having a very small and smooth face. she also wrote that he is much thinner in person than as seen on television.

as a closing she wrote that she feels that she gained so much millions of won when she saw yong joon.

oh, she said that the japanese fans were able to get his autograph!

that's the name given to ji sup as a rapper. yes, he is a rapper. where? in the 'lonely life' music video by G which i posted earlier. for those who are just starting to like ji sub, well don't be surprised, ji sub is a known hip hop lover and he has been rapping on stage too...for fun. but this is the only time he recorded because according to him G, the singer, is his friend.

since many were surprised seeing and hearing ji sub raps, BOF is fast denied that ji sub is debuting as a singer rapper. ^^

09.02.08 yong joon update

here's a quick translation of today's sighting. thanks to mymy for the help! ^^

because of the rain yesterday, yong joon wasn't able to go around. but today at around 1:00 he went to the coffee shop wearing black cap, sunglasses, khaki colored inner shirt, jacket with a hood and cross design at the back, jeans, and sports shoes. the stayed at the coffee shop for 3 hrs. he then left at 4:30 and greeted the waiting fans .

yong joon also went to the skin clinic. he left the clinic at 6:30 with no sling.

news about yong joon is kinda slow today. so i'll just be posting this news about so ji sub who happens to be my 2nd most adored man in korea. ^^

'i love jeans.' that's what the tag line of 'dressed to kill' jeans that so ji sub and lee ji ah, both bof artists are endorsing in korea [click here to see photos]. and it seems that denim jeans love so ji sub as well that is why he was awarded in Japan today under the international category 'best jeanist'. ^^ this award [under int'l category] was given for the 1st time and it was awarded to this korean actor. congratulations ji sub!

Japanese manga comics are best known for their adult blend of mythical beasts, lonely heroes and violent martial arts. So it might come as a surprise to learn that the hottest manga storyline, currently gripping Korean CEOs and Chinese car plant drones, centres on two polite chaps travelling around the world and tasting wine.

The Drops of God: Manga comics based on wine

Kami No Shizuku – or The Drops Of God – has been wildly popular with manga fans since its creation in 2004, and is considered a bible for ordinary wine-lovers scared by stuffy wine magazines.

Sales have topped a million copies in South Korea alone, with sales of wine shooting up by 30 per cent in response.

The ten-volume series sees two brothers given the challenge of locating 12 legendary wines when their father, a wine critic, dies suddenly.

Whichever son succeeds in the challenge inherits their father's £9 million wine cellar. (The exact contents of the cellar are not revealed in the first series, but the chances are that Cliff Richard's Vida Nova missed the cut...)

Printed mostly in black and white and drawn to look like an ancient Japanese woodblock print, the secret of its success lies in the brilliant, sensual – and ever more outrageous – wine descriptions. 'Just like a classic rock concert!' says one brother after taking a sip of a 2001 Mont-Pérat.

'Like walking in a quiet forest being followed by two butterflies,' exclaims the other brother.

It's hardly Decanter magazine, but Shin and Yuko Kibayashi, the wine-loving brother-and-sister team behind the comic who write under pseudonyms, take a perverse interest in dispensing with tedious wine terminology.

'We try to find an unusual phrase that sums up the experience, not using the sort of language a sommelier would use, but using images to make it sound delicious,' says Yuko.

Any individual wine lucky enough to be name-checked can expect to sell an extra 50 cases within 48 hours – the Asian equivalent of the 'Delia Effect'.

Such is the comic's status in South Korea that parents often slip a copy into their children's suitcase before they leave for university, in the hope it will inspire them to develop sophisticated palettes.

Having conquered Asia, The Drops Of God is now teeing up Europe. Issue one has just come out in France.

'It works because a lot of people are scared of fine wine,' says Delphine Katrantzis of French publisher Glénat, which took the brave step of publishing it in the home of the wine snob. 'In fact, at the beginning the hero has never even drunk a glass of wine, so it's a learning curve the readers can identify with. Next stop, Britain.

'It's an exciting prospect for us,' says Emma Hayley of graphic novel publisher Self Made Hero, which last year released a manga version of Shakespeare. 'It demystifies fine wine and puts the fun back into tasting.'
