I've been wanting to post this since yesterday but couldn't find the right timing after Inkigayo, Stamping Event and the Birthday Bash of Young Saeng.

Remember the MTV 日韓音樂瘋 JK Pop Music Craze? It was aired last Oct 29 videos have been all over the net and not sure though if there's already a translation existing. Anyway, Shirley translated and subbed the show and shared it on her shirbogurl YT channel. Though only 2 parts of 3 are up, I'm going to post them now and will just shove this post later for the completion.

Sorry guys i should have started my post with the departure of the boys at Incheon but I got excited and posted their arrival instead. Anyway, i'll just probably fix my posts when i've posted everything. ^^ Right now, my friends think that i'm crazy right in front of my notebook srcreaming, getting giddy and going crazy looking at the boys.

catching up on the vids

I have missed quite a few videos released this week of SS501 and Yong Joon as I was tied up with work. I'm only watching some of them now and posting here in my blog. Here are few of them which I'm pretty sure many of you have already seen.

I love love this video.

Hyun Joong as always look handsome and so relaxed doing the photoshoot. It's as if he's doing the photoshoot all through his life. His poses come so naturally.

Jung Min is so cute and wacky. He's always seems so energize. I wonder where he gets his strength when everyone else seems to look tired. And oh I miss Jung Min's hair like this in Taiwan.

Young Saeng is so handsome in this photoshoot. Though he doesn't come as natural as Leader and not as energized as Jung Min, his softness and cute smile makes me want to keep on playing repeatedly his scenes in this video.

As for Maknae and Kyu Jong, I'm not really digging their hair style here, but nonetheless, both are looking adorable like the others.

Jung Min's 'Only Me' in Persona in Japan and 'If You Cannot' at the Wonder+Full Korea Concert. He seems a little rusty after resting for more than two weeks. Not his best performance and messed up singing 'If You Cannot' in 2 minutes mark. That is the part of Ji Sun. ^^ But he is still adorable.

It's really amazing how the Taiwanese fans are craving for SS501 in their country. I'm pretty sure SS501 is happy to hear this news.

From the article below it says that 80% of the tickest were already sold and there is still the online selling which will happen on Septebmer 16. With this overwhelming response, I wonder if all fans can be accommodated in Taipei Arena. I wonder too if DSP is considering of a possible 2-night concert. Not a bad idea, right? Fans can still save. The concert is slated to happen on Oct 17 and that is 37 more days to go.

Btw, for each ticket sold, a 100 TWD will be donated for a good cause.

SS501 practices Mandarin song diligently for Taiwan concert, have outstanding performance in ticket sales with 80% of tickets sold within first 3 days.

As SS501 is scheduled to hold a concert in Taipei Arena on the 17 of next month, fans who want to see their idols up close, have queued overnight without complain and have willingly spent money on the tickets. Since the opening of ticket sales on 5 September (Saturday), in less than 3 days, 80% of the tickets have been sold.

The tickets ranging from 3200 TWD to 4500 TWD (100 USD - 137 USD) are completely sold out and there are limited 800 TWD tickets left. Besides Taiwanese fans, fans from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Shanghai and other Asian countries have also rushed to snap up the tickets. An estimate of 400 overseas fans will attend the concert in Taiwan. Online sale of the tickets will start on 16 September.

SS501 hopes to sing a Chinese Mandarin song for the fans in Taiwan during the concert and are currently practicing diligently for it. As to which song they will be singing, SS501 said they are now working hard on memorizing the song and will only reveal it on the day of the concert; they want to give a big surprise to all their fans.

A limited edition of SS501 Greatest Hit Collection album will hit the stores on 22 September.

08/19 [Trans] SS501 in Trendy Magazine Aug 09

I've been rather slow since yesterday. I'm a bit busy at work since there's a big event that is coming up in a month time. Hee, another large scale event. I miss doing events since the ___ thing happened in the US. ^^ But were back to normal [i hope] though we've to do things with less extravagance and fun fares.

We'll on top of being busy at work, I was also abusy last night editing episode 2 of 'My Fair Lady'. With a little more spots to be settled and few more tweaks here and there, it'll be out soon. So for those waiting for it on soompi, have a little more patience.

Btw, I like episode 2! Okay let me correct that... I like 'My Fair Lady' so far. I'm not a big fan of Eun Hye but since Il Woo is there I'm watching it. He's cute. ^_^. There are some cute scenes in episode 2 particularly with that cute little boy who played little Gu Jun Pyo on BoF. Cute as is really cute. And the scene where Il Woo is waiting inside his car and looking at the horison. Beautiful! Quite a lot of good cinematography too. Better check it out! Episode 3 is tonight.

Oppsie, that was quite random up there. Miane. ^_^

Anyway, this post is actually about the Trendy Mag that cagali translated and shared on Quiante501. This was posted yesterday but only posting now. Thanks again cagali!

Here's the article It's anoother fun read from Trendy. I think that this magazine really did a wonderful job with SS501. They not only able to give us good interview but they're able to give us some very detailed behind the scenes description of what's happening during the interview. Likewise, I really really like how the writer described each members actions. I hope that Trendy recorded their sessions with the boys and will share video footages.

Jung Min: In the Taiwan limited edition '1st Solo Collection', I have specially recorded a new song titled 'Only Me?". All this while we could only have 'long distance' interaction with our Taiwan fans, only now then we finally visited Taiwan. This is a special gift to my Taiwan fans. Naturally, as a singer, this is the best gift which can convey my heart felt feelings. I have personally written the song lyrics, the contents are a little sad and touching. I even cried while writing the lyrics. This is a song which will stimulate your tear gland and make you cry once listening. It is an entirely new creation specially for the Taiwan fan. Please make sure to listen to this song.

Hyun Joong: 'Thank You' is written for the fans. It is a song I wanted to sing for the fans. I hope that when everyone read the lyrics, they can understand the feelings which I am trying to convey. All this while, I have been receiving tonnes of love and care from everybody, therefore, I hope to convey my thanks and wishes to be together forever with them via this song. Although the lyrics is in Korean, Taiwan fans might not receive completely my heart felt thanks, but I do hope they could understand the meaning of the lyrics and like this song.

Hyung Joon: This time my solo is 'I am'. This is a song written for a person you like. The lyrics content are about: If you wish, I can give all my love to you. This is my 1st solo song which I wrote the lyrics. That's why I like this song very much. Hope when everybody listen to the song rhythm and lyrics, they can feel the profound feelings that I want to convey both when writing the lyrics and also singing the song.

Young Saeng: Included in this solo collection, my solo song is a love song 'It's not love?'. It is trying to convey the feelings of a boy's deepest love towards a girl, wanting to love but miss the opportunity and thus could not love her openly but could only secretly love one-sided. It is a very sad love story. (TRENDY: Young Saeng is actually the composer and lyricist for this song!)

Kyu Jong: 'Never let you go' is a R&B song. When writing the lyrics, I am trying to convey the feeling of a boy who broke off a relationship. When broke off with the girl he like, this is the song he want to sing for her, trying to convey his unwillingness to part with her, hoping that the girl will change her mind to come back to him, and he will continue to wait for her. It is a sad love song. The Rap portion is sung by Hyung Joon.

Q: In this increasingly hot summer, which is the most suitable song to listen to?

Hyung Joon: 'Bye bye'. This song is most suitable for summer and seaside. (This song can be found in the SS501's 1st Album 'S.T. 01 Now' which was released in 2006. It is a lively song)

Hyun Joong: I would like to recommend 'Snow Prince' to everybody. Although 'Snow Prince' is created based on the winter atmosphere, however, when listening in summer, you can feel the coolness and feel happy after listening. Thus, help keeping the heat away. (Smile)
(This song is debuted in SS501 '2nd Single' which was released on 2005. It is a slow dance love song specially created for winter and filled with warm feelings of love relationship. This song is also included in the Taiwan limited edition 'Super Hit Collection'.)

Jung Min: I recommend this song~ Maybe everybody will think it has no connection with summer and might think that it is not suitable for summer, but.... (showing a mischievous expression.... purposely stop for awhile to raise everybody's curiosity), I think the passion while singing '4 Chance' (recorded in SS501 1st Album 'S.T. 01 Now') is similar to the hot summer. Therefore it is very suitable to listen in summer. Can everybody understand the feeling? Can you? Can you?
(Jung Min's fervent enquiries make everybody around unknowingly nod their head. He shown his satisfaction by gesturing the winning hand sign, making Leader Hyun Joong burst into laugher, and everybody around also laugh together.)

Kyu Jong: Actually not necessarily only fast beat song is suitable for summer. I think songs like 'Unlock' on the contrary can open up your heart and release your emotion completely. Also, some SS501 slow beat songs are actually very suitable for listening during summer trip. It feels good listening to these song even if travelling alone.
('Unlock' is the main hit song in SS501 1st Album 'S.T. 01 Now', it is specially tailored to SS501, and has a unique and powerful style.)

Young Saeng: In summer, you definitely must listen to 'La La La... Song calling for you'! The rhythm is lively, lyrics is relax and simple, especial the chorus 'La La La...' portion, it is very easy to sing-along, it is most suitable for listening and singing during summer time, your mood turns happy after listening and forget about the summer is so hot.

Hyun Joong: Oh~ where should we go? (Thinking earnestly) Lets go to Gyeongju! Let it be an in depth Korea cultural tour. There is a lot of Korean traditional cultural relic in Gyeongju, everybody can experience the beauty of Korean traditional culture. In addition to that, we can also sample traditional Korean cuisine. They are very delicious! Lets have a date in Gyeongju next time! (Smile)

Jung Min: I would like to bring everybody to date in Myeong Dong and Ab Gu Jeong. Myeong Dong is the youth's territory. You can sense the youth liveliness in Myeong Dong and also find the most popular fashion. There's a lot of reasonably priced clothes and goods! Ab Gu Jeong is Korea's fashion cradle. To experience Korea's latest fashion trend, don't miss this place.
(Using mandarin to emphasize again: 'Ming Dong' (Myeong Dong). Maybe it is because Myeong Dong's mandarin pronunciation is closed to korean's, 5 of them continuously say in mandarin: "Ming Dong! Ming Dong~....". The 'Ming Dong' sound was repeated over and over again, it is really funny.)

Young Saeng: 63 City Tower! 63 City Tower is Korea's building icon. Although I have not visited there since long time ago, but I heard there are a lot of interesting and fun recreation facilities. We will definitely have an enjoyable day if visit this place together with our fans.

Kyu Jong: For me~ of course I must bring them to Jeonju. Jeonju is my hometown (Smile). Since I am more understand and familiar with Jeonju, I can be the guide, bringing everybody to try out Jeonju most authentic cuisine and also to Jeonju most popular attractions. Jeonju is a nice place!

Hyung Joon: "I... I.... (After hearing to the mandarin translation from the lady translator, he immediately speak in perfect pronunciation his newly learned word: "辣炒年糕" (Pronounce as 'La Chao Nian Gao', spicy fried rice cake in mandarin) Seems like he has a natural flair in mandarin!)

Jung Min: 삼계탕 Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup). It is good for your health and also delicious.

SS501 turns their promise to Taiwan fans during their fan meeting earlier this year into reality, and will be holding a concert on 17 Oct, Rose/Tachung Records are suspected of announcing their ticket sales starts on 29 Aug, impatient fans have already started queuing overnight at various locations, organizer Brooks Brothers say, ticketing details will only be announced early Sept, and asks for fans to be patient.

Q: As this is SS501 1st visit to Taiwan, please share your impression and feeling about Taiwan.

Jung Min: Being the 1st time visiting to Taiwan, I am very surprised and at the same time excited to received the warm welcome by everybody upon arrival of the airport. Taiwan is exactly like what I have visualized. It is a warm and beautiful country. This is why I am very happy today.

(Once the translator finish translating, Jung Min nod his head and answer seriously: "Correct!" in his perfect mandarin pronunciation. We can't help but wonder, Jung Min ah~ Actually you can understand mandarin right!)

Hyun Joong: Although this is the first time we visit Taiwan, we have received warm welcome from the passionate fans, I am indeed very happy. I would want to visit Taiwan more often to meet with our Taiwan fans. Of course, we have to prepare more activities so that we can have more chance to connect with the fans. Hope that we can hold our concert in Taiwan soon.

Young Saeng: In fact, I have never expect Taiwan to bear resemblance of Korea. Although this is my 1st visit to Taiwan, I have a friendly and familiar feeling here. It doesn't seems like my 1st visit here as I don't feel distant but gives me a "déjà vu" feeling. (Smile shyly)

(Just when 'TRENDY' is still dazzled by Prince Young Saeng's charming smile, the performance of 'Tom & Jerry' war has started right infront of us. When Young Saeng's almost finished answering, Hyung Joon, unable to bear his curiousity, took up the beverage on table and started to shake it. The sharp eyes Jung Min notice that and immediately shout: "Hyung Joong ah~" to stop him. Both Hyun Joong & Kyu Jong who are concentrating on Young Saeng's talk and turned their head at the same time and look at Hyung Joon. Probably sensing the sight of his brothers especially Hyun Joong leader, Hyung Joon put his index finger on his lips to gesture the 'Shh.....' action. Then like a child who has made a mistake, quietly place back the beverage on the table. Jung Min sigh and shake his head and continue to listen to Young Saeng's answer earnestly.)

Hyung Joon: For me..... I think Taiwan is an extremely friendly country. In Taiwan, everybody's character must be very easy going and happy. (Hyung Joon seems to not recovering back from the shock he get from the beverage incident.)

Kyu Jong: I also have the same feelings as what everybody has mentioned. Taiwan is really a passionate place. We had some Taiwan local food for dinner tonight. They are really delicious. Really wish that we can often come to enjoy all these gourmet. Next time I will definitely try other types of food.

Hyun Joong - 'View from your back'
We have originally thought that the most difficult and challenging expression is the 'View from your back'. However, it is acted out by our Leader Kim without any problem.

Can you understand what he is trying to express from his back? According to him, it is a very sorrow back image.

Jung Min - 'Cute'
Our charisma Jung Min originally supposed to challenge the 'Sexy' expression, but after being 'NG' for many times because he can't stop laughing. He shamelessly changed his card to 'Cute'. After going through all the trouble, his 'Cute' acting is commented by everybody saying that it is not 'Cute' enough. He shows an unimaginable look by opening his mouth widely (as shown on the middle picture). To fulfill the demand of everybody, he is forced to redo his 'Cute' expression.

Hyung Joon - 'Cool'
Guess what has Hyung Joon selected? That's right~ He has selected the expression. Hyung Joon has originally thought that acting cool is the simplest task. However, after being making fun of continuously by the other 4 members, he keeps laughing whenever he start to act. This time, the mastermind behind all these is not Jung Min, but..... Young Saeng! Young Saeng has been laughing ever since Hyung Joon make his 1st expression. Thus making Hyung Joon 'Cool' 'Cool' 'NG' for many times.

Kyu Jong - 'Pitiful'
Before Kyu Jong starts acting his expression, the rest of the members requested him to show a very very pitiful expression. Not letting down all of them, once Kyu Jong make his face expression, everybody want to give him a pet on his head.

Young Saeng - 'Making funny face'
The champion of our acting challenge is Young Saeng. The reason that he is selected as the champion is ...... Our little prince actually willing to sacrifice his beautiful image and make a funny face. 'TRENDY' must admit, Prince Young Saeng's funny face is the cutest in the entire universe!

Winning the Best New Comer Award when just debut in 2005, together with their charming looks and excellent performances, SS501 has attracted the attention of Asia fans. After earnestly looking forward to, SS501 step into Taiwan finally! With such a precious 1st interview trip, 'TRENDY' will definitely host them and most importantly, will fight for a MOST intimate and exclusive dating with SS501.

When SS501 together with their korean translator arrived at the interview location, the 1st person that walk in, Jung Min speaks loudly and energetically in Mandarin : "Hello, everybody!". Right after him, Hyun Joong, Hyung Joon, Young Saeng and Kyu Jong enter with smile and greet everybody.

Before the interview, Hyun Joong quietly walk to the table which 'TRENDY' had prepared before hand. From his eyes, one can see his curiousity, however, his face expression remains cool and display a deep thinking look while pondering at the items on the table.

'TRENDY' photographer notices that he seems to be interested with the bubble tea. He explains that it is a beverage which Taiwanese always drink, it is made by tea adding milk, and the little pearly balls are called 'fen yuan'. Hyun Joong nods his head and exudes a 'deep and profound' smile. (According to observation of 'TRENDY', Hyun Joong seems to be trying to understand the situation of the location. As expected of his role as a leader!)

After changing their attires, SS501 members sit down at the interview area one by one. The sofa area that they are sitting at once becomes the most 'shining' part in the studio. The 5 members earnestly listen to the explanation of the interview process. Jung Min playfully shows the 'OK' hand sign and thus the interview with SS501 begins.....

Since the wish to visit 'Taipei 101' could not be fulfilled, 'TRENDY' specially presents 5 different 'Taipei 101' souvenirs and postcards as gifts for SS501. Hoping that the next time when SS501 visit Taiwan, they can date with everybody in 'Taipei 101'! Upon hearing that there are presents for them, 5 of them happily clap their hands. Looking curiously to see what are the presents that they have received.

What is Hyun Joong's present? Hyun Joong's present is a golden bookmark.

Jung Min
Once opening the present, Jung Min shockingly said: "I have this can opener!". Although his Taiwan fan had given him the same present before, Jung Min still accepts the gift happily. Despite to Hyung Joon's constant plea to exchange their present, he simply would not obliged to him.

Hyung Joon's present is a handphone strap. Since Jung Min's can opener looks 'bigger', Hyung Joon pouts: "Why is my present smaller?"

'TRENDY' quickly coaxed him and said: "Maybe it is because you really like your handphone, so you get a handphone strap." Hyung Joon: "I also want a big present."

Young Saeng
Young Saeng receives a key chain. He seems to like the present very much, after receiving it, he keeps looking at it.

Kyu Jong
Kyu Jong has been anticipating to visit 'Taipei 101'. Therefore, when he receives the postcards that 'TRENDY' gives him, he excitedly said: "Thank you! thank you!". With “Korean version of Hanazawa Rui” Kim HyunJoong leading the team, SS501 brought with them a total of 22 people including staff and dancers for their visit to Taiwan. With such a big entourage, it shows how important their Korean Entertainment company views this trip to Taiwan.


SS501 has debut for about 4 years! These 5 pretty boys advanced into the Japanese music industry 2 years ago, and had spent lots of time in Japan for activities. The Japanese singles and albums that they’ve released during that period were well-received, all of their releases were ranked in the top 10 on the Oricon chart. Even though some people said they were silly to stop their activities in Korea when their career was just about to soar. They had to start as a newcomer again when they went over to Japan, but they achieved their results in no time. They even held concerts in Tokyo and Osaka! As all members of SS501 were versatile, it was not as difficult for them to learn Japanese language. They said “We couldn’t talk in fluent Japanese in the beginning. While we had our activities in Japan, because the staffs were mostly Japanese, and that we had to communicate with them during work, and we can only use Japanese if we want to chat, that is why our Japanese language competency improved naturally. Even though we’re still not very fluent in it, but there is no problem for normal conversation.”

SS501 finally got back together in full strength after leader finished the filming for ‘Boys Over Flowers’, members stopped their individual activities temporary. When Kim HyunJoong was filming for ‘Boys Over Flowers’, 3 members of SS501 namely Kim HyungJoon, Heo YoungSaeng and Kim KyuJong released a new album ‘Triple S’, and on the album cover, they bare their upper body. SS501’s company said that this album cover is specially designed for the 3 of them to display their own charms each of them possessed. Another member Park JungMin was engaged in musical ‘Grease’ during the same period. In addition, the group ‘Triple S’ which was formed by Kim HyungJoon, Heo YoungSaeng and Kim KyuJong, also had cameo appearance in ‘Boys Over Flowers’, appearance as a popular group performing in a club at GangNam, Seoul. Besides music and musical, their photo book ‘Photo 501’ was released earlier too. This photo book consists of a total of 501 photos, of which 500 photos were taken by SS501 themselves, and the very last one is fans’ own photo.



SS501 finally arrived into Taiwan after much anticipation! There were over 100 fans who enthusiastically welcomed them at the airport on that day, the place was carefully decorated by the fans – mint green balloons with members’ images printed on it, placards with Chinese and Korean characters of the 5 members’ names. There are many fans that waited at the airport one day prior to their arrival. In order to minimize any chaotic situation that may arise when the singers arrive, besides engaging good security company to maintain order at the airport, members of SS501 Taiwan fanclub also gave out “TST Must-Know Rules” pamphlet which they carefully drew out, to inform all the fans about important rules to adhere to while welcoming SS501.

SS501, who is their 1st time coming to Taiwan, appeared in casual outfit. These 5 big boys greeted their fans with warm polite smiles, captivating their fans immediately. SS501 who are friendly when they came to Taiwan, they slowed down to shake hands with fans while they were getting out of the airport to the car. However, it made a human traffic jam at the terminal 1 of the airport. Because the amount of people was too much, Kim HyunJoong was even touched on the chest by one fan! After 5 members of SS501 got into their vehicle, they didn’t forget to greet their fans through the car window. The fans surrounded their vehicle and even jam up the traffic, which the police had to come and assist to direct the traffic.


Upon arriving Taiwan, SS501 had a short rest before going for their tight packed schedules. Their first meal in Taiwan is a simple one at their hotel, and their dinner is at the famous ‘Ding Tai Fung’, tasting the local delicacies of Taiwan, 6 trays of xiaolongbao were swept clean the moment it reaches the table! And all the members like fried rice, red bean bun, yam bun and chicken soup. Curious as they are, when they saw the seasoning tray that are labeled in Chinese, they put all types of seasoning together since they do not read Chinese, and in the end, they didn’t dare to try it themselves. Another interesting incident is that member KyuJong doesn’t take spicy food, so he can only watch in vain when the members ate spicy braised beef noodle deliciously. And leader HyunJoong who enjoys eating spicy food put a whole bottle of chilli sauce into his food and ate it without batting an eyelid! When SS501 is in Taiwan, they were always surrounded with fans who booked taxis to chase them around, even when they return back to the hotel very late at night, there was still a large group of fans waiting at the entrance. SS501 felt sorry for their fans, who braved the unpredictable weather chasing after them, and especially made some time between their interviews to go and say hi to their fans at the hotel entrance. Fans said in Korean “You’ve worked hard!” to the members and they also replied “you’ve worked hard!” When fans asked JungMin “How’s Taiwanese girls?”, JungMin happily replied “I love you all!”


In the 3 days in Taiwan, the 5 boys in SS501 learnt some Chinese such as “right, right, right”, “I love you”, “You are very pretty”, “Do you wanna die?”, “Crazy”, etc. Park JungMin, who was being mocked the most, received a gift at the press conference – “Huge Cup of Taiwan Beer”. Though his drinking capacity isn’t very good, he readily finish drinking the whole cup and praised that it was delicious! During their visit, SS501 also officially announced that they will start their Asia Tour from August and that Taiwan stop would be between October to December.

The tickets for the fan meeting held at TICC had long been sold out. Nearly 3,200 fans attended! SS501 brought with them, 7 experienced dancers for this fan meeting, in order to present the best visual effects. They sang ‘Déjà vu’ for their opening to warm up the atmosphere, then they sang the OST song for ‘Boys Over Flowers’, ‘Because I am Stupid’ which was sung by SS501 too. The fans sang along and everyone was enjoying to the climax. Lastly, everyone sang the last encore song together, ‘lalala… for you’ and ended the fan meeting perfectly. SS501 sang a total of 6 songs including the encore song, displaying their singing and dancing capabilities, and with the enjoyable times interacting with their fans, it marked an unforgettable night for their Taiwan fans.


After the success of their fan meeting held at TICC, SS501 were yearning for their hometown delicacies, which is why the record company brought them to a famous Korean BBQ restaurant “Longevity” for their post event party. Easing their homesickness, these 5 boys said happily in Chinese “Thank you!” to their colleagues from Taiwan record company. They also said that they will continue to work hard and then all of them shouted in unison “Fighting!”

In addition, SS501’s ‘Collection SUPER HITS!’ and ‘Solo Collection 1st SOLO ALBUM’ were released, besides the Chinese lyrics included in the album, ‘Open up and sing’ Korean pronunciation booklet was also included so that fans can sing along using this even if they don’t know Korean! SS501 will depart to Hong Kong for their 2nd stop of Asia Tour Fan Meeting. It is estimated that there were nearly 600 fans to send them off at the airport. As the fans were too enthusiastic, Leader Kim HyunJoong nearly fell down, clothes and bags were also pulled down from them. The staircase railing on the 2nd floor also broke off! But the 5 boys were very appreciative of the enthusiastic support from fans, so before they go in to the custom, they went over to the glass window and waved to their fans on the other side of the window for as long as 5 minutes. Fans responded by enthusiastic screaming and hitting of the window!


Kim HyunJoong lead his team SS501, with 4 other members, to Taiwan for a fan meeting. That was the first visit to Taiwan and coincidentally Super Junior is also in Taiwan to attend the Golden Melody Awards. Two popular Korean idol groups arrive at Taiwan airport on the same day and at the same time, making a hot conversational topic. Kim HyunJoong expressed “Taiwan fans are very enthusiastic which leaves a deep impression on me. I hope to come back to Taiwan soon to meet everyone again.”


Kim HyunJoong recalled in program ‘SangSangPlus Season 2’, on the days they were in Japan, he confessed frankly that it was ‘really tough and lonely’! He said sometimes he would be so bored in their dorm that he started writing fanfics on the internet. From then on, everyone called him ‘Author Kim’. There was once where Kim HyunJoong used ‘SS501’ as the main characters for his fic, and even wrote that JungMin is a stalker fan who likes him, and he is a famous artiste who is unable to accept her love. And the Japanese staffs really thought that JungMin is interested in him! SS501’s Park JungMin also said in MBC ‘Golden Fishery’ that he had to clear up the ‘Gay Scandal’ between him and Kim HyunJoong that was rumored in Japan. He laughed “HyunJoong hyung especially likes to joke about such things, he always say to me ‘do you like me’ or ‘I am handsome’ and similar stuffs. He even wrote short message notes to me, so there was once that he put a note into the bag and suddenly took it out and said that I wrote that to him, making me stunned, not knowing how to react.”

SS501 released quite a few singles and albums in Japan. When we talked about their 2nd Japanese album ‘All My Love’, Kim HyunJoong said that all the songs included in this album are the favorites of all the 5 members. Kim HyunJoong said “’All my love’ is without any music, only with our voices! Also this song ‘Asai Yume No Hate’, it made us recall the hardships that we went through together during our activities in Japan.”


Leader Kim HyunJoong is said to be the main support of SS501. With him around, the other members are able to be calmer during their performances. Besides the responsibility as a leader, Kim HyunJoong already gained much popularity prior to ‘Boys Over Flowers’, when he appeared for ‘We Got Married’, a section of MBC ‘Sunday Sunday Night’. Maybe it is due to the lack of rest, we remembered that he had a relapse of his old injuries, dislocated his shoulders, during their Tokyo and Osaka concert, but in order not to affect the performance, he endured with it. Kim HyunJoong injured himself twice on stage last year and in April, he sprained his ankle during the rehearsal in SBS music program ‘Inki Gayo’, making his fans worry for him.
Besides that, Kim HyunJoong also felt depressed not long ago! This is because his grandmother was hospitalized due to her knees. His grandmother underwent an operation and had symptoms of paralysis through her body. Although she is out of danger now, she could not recognize anyone other than Kim HyunJoong himself. Filial Kim HyunJoong is quite worried about this matter and felt depressed about this.

Kim HyunJoong expressed a number of times through media that his grandmother is like a ‘mother’ to him. His grandmother was the one who looked after him prior to elementary school since his parents were both busy with work. He said “My grandmother doted on me since young, encouraging me to strive and improve, to achieve my targets. It is all due to my grandmother’s support that I can debut as a singer and got casted for ‘Boys Over Flowers’.”

Also not long ago, it is rumored that due to busy work schedules, Kim HyunJoong suffered from fatigue, fever and other uncomfort, even fainting and had to be sent to hospital for treatment. He was hospitalized for a week, resulting in cancellation of work schedules. His company denied these rumors and expressed that the reports were too exaggerated. It is not as serious as reported, his company said “Kim HyunJoong was not admitted to hospital, but awhile back, he did went to the hospital to seek medical treatment as he had symptoms of flu and fatigue. Everything is OK now!”

After huge popularity garnered through “Boys Over Flowers”, every move of Kim HyunJoong has gathered attention. SS501 member KyuJong appeared in KBS 2TV ‘Star Golden Bell’ said “Before our debut, we went to a public bath house, but we are afraid to go after debut.” And when KyuJong said he ever went to a public bath house with HyunJoong after debut, it gathered much attention, KyuJong laughed and said “After we took off our top and halfway in taking off our pants, someone came up to us and requested for signature, and even thrust us a pen and paper. In the end, we just had to sign for the fan embarrassedly!” And the funniest incident was when Kim HyunJoong and KyuJong were relaxing themselves in the sauna room. Both of them dozed off on the massage chair, and suddenly they heard a lot of chattering surrounding them. “Both of us were shocked with we opened our eyes. There were over 10 pairs of eyes looking at us, so we finally had to get dressed up quickly and left” KyuJong said.

p.s. From this interview and photo shoot I read that the boys were all wearing Louis Vuitton outfits including the shoes. I noticed that Young Saeng's shoes is almost the same shoes that Bae Yong Joon used in Cosmopolitan when he was their cover in their May Issh.
