[Vids] 081710 Hyun Joong off to Japan
Hyun Joong is taking time off from filming 'Mischievous Kiss' for a few days because he's going to Japan for the 'Boys Over Flowers' Alumni.

lol the lady in black skirt tried to be sneaky when hyun joong was at the escalator but too bad the manager know better. manager is not mean to fans and he doesn't look bad either. compare to the dsp manager he always had the mean look to fans when they only wanted to give him letters. fans want to get near him but they give him space as they know hyun joong doesn't like it. it's good to have the two friends that we saw on datv with him to keep company. look forward to more fancam from japan.
HJL is not the social creature that Jungmin is - he has admitted in a couple of interviews that he's awkward and withdrawn especially in the midst of unfamiliar people.
When surrounded by his SS501 dongsaengs, it's not so evident as the 5 of them draw strength from each other. However, since BOF and thereafter his many individual projects, HJ has been thrust more and more into situations which he has to deal alone and most relationships encountered are likely to be work related rather than in depth. The good thing is he still has his close dancer friends, his childhood buddies and last but not least, his SS501 brothers in his circle to give him the stability. Leader is indeed blessed with such dear and true friends.
What some people see as HJ's '4D expressionless look' may be his defense mechanism as HJL deals with his inner demons of shyness and insecurity - as unbelievable as it may be considering the amount of exposure he has gone through under the public eye.
At the risk of being misunderstood as aloof and unfriendly, this quality is rather endearing and makes him more human. I would absolutely hate it if HJL should become so blase with the public attention and media that he's flashing meaningless smiles simply to appease public expectation.
Here's wishing Leader every success in all the coming projects and may the new path he has embarked on bring him to greater maturity as a person and scale higher peaks in his career as an artiste.

I absolutely agree with you. That is what makes him unique. I rather him be true to himself than just flashing fake smiles for the public. This makes him more human and genuine.
Is BOF one of the rare K dramas with a post production alumni event ? I don't recall any other works that have this kind of activity organized.
KHJ creates a kind of social distance between himself and others as a protective stance .Which is a different approach compared to what he uses when he is with his significant others -where he is free to be himself , he can say and do anything he wants and will not be judged and hanged .
In a way ,one can even say ,KHJ dedma expression is his social mask,like what we all wear only we wear ours in various ways .
KHj is a very interesting fellow-he is a public icon but still a very, very private individual .
I may be wrong and doing some personal guesswork, but methinks his 'default' face has surfaced more frequently in the last couple of years. I've been avidly watching and reviewing as many available videos clips I can find online dating to M!Pick times before their debut to recent ones - how I wish to see the carefree side of HJL as he was in those days.

When KHJ was younger he was carefree and spontaneous because he was in the cocoon of his members and immediate family and close friends .Now with success and solo activities and maturity comes the objectivity and guarded moments.
Yes,we are nostalgic for those days. We have seen Hyun Joong grow up before our very eyes . In a sense he was our "Truman. "
