SS501 Kim HyunJoong, who has recently moved over to another management company, has gathered attention on whether he will be making a comeback with drama ‘Mischievous Kiss’ (also known as ‘It started with a kiss’, I shall use ‘Mischievous Kiss’ here since this is a more accurate translation from the Korean title), originated from a Japanese manga.
Kim HyunJoong has been chosen as the male lead for ‘Mischievous Kiss’, which would be broadcasted through MBC, he is going into the final stages of discussions. Even though there hasn’t been any confirmation till date, Kim HyunJoong, who has received a lot of attention as a singer turned actor through ‘Boys Over Flowers’, has gained attention on whether he will raise another wave of syndrome through this manga-originated drama once again.
From the initial time when news of drama ‘Mischievous Kiss’ is going to be filmed, Kim HyunJoong was chosen as number 1 person to be casted for the role among the netizens as they think that he is most suited with the original image in the manga. CN Blue Jung YongHwa is also one of the candidates selected, but it would be difficult to cast him in due to his schedules. Meanwhile, ‘Mischievous Kiss’ production side said in brief “Nothing has been confirmed yet.”
Production for ‘Mischievous Kiss’ is taken up by Group Eight who has raised the ‘Boys Over Flowers’ wave syndrome, ‘Mischievous Kiss’ is a popular manga which has sold 27million copies in Japan alone. Taiwan drama of the same title by Joseph Cheng and Ariel Lin has gain a lot of popularity too.
Korean version of ‘Mischievous Kiss’ will be directed by Hwang InRol who has directed ‘Shampoo’s Fairy‘, ‘What Woman Live By’, ‘Goong’, ‘IlJiMae Returns’, etc, and written by Go EunNim who has written ‘Bungee Jumping of Their Own’, ‘Rebirth – NEXT’, ‘Soul’, etc.
‘Mischievous Kiss’ is expected to be broadcasted after MBC Wed-Thu drama ‘Road No. 1’.

KE sure works doubly fast! i am glad that Leader's career is being handled well and that he is getting a lot of projects but i am also at the same time getting alarmed since this will affect his health again... during the BOF filming and promotions, he fainted and was hospitalized several times because of over fatigue.. KE must bear in mind that even if he is eager to accommmodate all projects lined up, health must be also considered....

In the case of BOF, KHJ had to do three months of filming for We Got Married in two weeks and prepare for BOF at the same time. That is why he was so thin.
Another remark from Japan and Taiwan? It would be better if it's something completely new, and different.
Anyway, if it's what he wants, then i'll support him fully.
i'm so excited..can't wait to see him again on screen...but who will be the female counterpart?i hope they'll do a nice ending for the story coz Taiwan version of ISWAK 2 is unfinished due to the death of the manga writer..bitin to death yung ending..

What charisma our Leader has!! In BOF, I've read he was the only character who didn't have to audition. Now, he's the no. 1 choice for this role!

"Itazura na kiss" is a hit mnaga, I didn't like the japanese version of "INK" but the taiwanese vesion was a huge hit, I only love one taiwanese series and that is It started with a kiss", I wish a cameo role for the 4 to be there and sing the OST, but the second lead I think it won't fit baby jun,he's a monkey looking like guy, that's the discription of the author, baby is so goodlooking for the role
The question is does KHJ like this drama ?I read somewhere he prefers a challenging role such as Psycho person not the cheesy kind of roles. Anyway,he might have changed his mind since then .

I'm not all so excited for this, don't get me wrong, I will support him, just that not all remakes can achieve relative success to BOF.
It all depends on the script and the whole cast. I really hope that if he were to participate in this drama, it will turn out to be a huge hit, whereby more people come to know of him and like him even more, instead of the drama recieving high viewership just because thousands of fans out there watch it for the sake of watching him. Not that the latter's bad, just that it wouldnt exactly be beneficial to him.
The good thing is that hjl himself kinda fits in the description of the male lead in this manga. How girls tend to go crazy at the sight of him, and how he's those who loves the girl but refuses to show it. Guess he don't really have to act huh? Just being himself! haha
Hope SS501, or at least some of them, sings the ost. Then they can travel together when promoting the drama overseas! :)

Fans not that powerful in drama industry. Not like in music industry, fans can manipulate the popularity of the song or singer by buy the album multiple times.. But you cant do that in drama industry. Drama industry is more like pure viewer / public choice. Dramas has got popular because viewer/public like it not because the fans of the actor watched it.
Even you have tons of fans, but if public not like it, it will not work..

Yunho TVXQ has almost of 800.000 korean cassiopeia behind him.. Cassiopeia is the biggest fc in korea.. But see, despite having great confidence about fans support, his drama didnt work well, even as of the smallest drama ratings last year..
So to make a drama popular, it is really depend on public/viewer preference.. Fans can do nothing much to help..

That's why i said that i really hope that the script and cast is a good one that will make the drama popular amongst the public. It's quite sad to see them work so hard just to yield so little results. I hope more people will get to know him through his new drama :)

Leader is more experienced, and really fits the role... I love maknae and i wanted him to have the part but I know time will come he'll also standout like leader.... =)

Since you mentioned about this, i would like to add a little info.. I voted at that site regularly, maknae was leading at the very early stage of voting for 2 days after that it was hyun joong leading all the way. The news about this voting came out several times already. The second time the news came out, it was hyun joong at no 1, no 2 siwon and maknae at no 3, and the news appeared on korean site as well. I like this manga a lot and Leader (he will always be SS501's leader in my heart) suit the role.
Some might criticized his BOF days but I think he wasn't that bad. It was his first lead role and Rui (in the manga) suppose to be like that.
Hyun Joongie, although you want a challenged role but start with simple one and success will boost your confident, you hate losings right.
think hyun joong is a perfect casting for the hero of the drama since he doesn't have to act... he's the hero himself! nobody can't compete with him for this role.
Waiting for the final confirmation. as he's in good hands of keyeast, we won't have to worry about his health because keyeast won't let him be dead-tired while filming and will take good care of him. hope he sings OST too.

I like his restrained performance in BOF which is difficult to do particularly in reference to his own personality .So many people can't even imagine how he transformed into Jihoo. I think the problem was it was compared to the volatile character of Jun Pyo and perhaps to earlier versions of BOF. They should have allowed KHJ the leeway to interpret the role .
Personally, I would rather KHJ act in an original drama so that he does not suffer by comparison. We should give artists that freedom to interpret their roles and to stand
out as unique individuals rather than copies of previous actors .

aww i wish maknae might have had a chance to act the lead..well this thought only occured when i saw that he had the highest vote to play the role in quite a few online polls..it's alright though if he can't cus hyun joong also suits the role prefectly..i just thought it would be nice for a change, perhaps hyun joong should challenge something a bit more serious or action packed like an assasin or something.

hyun joong took the top almost all the time with big margin with the second hopeful actor.
this role of 'mischievous kiss' just fits for hyun joong perfectly. guess the producing company group 8 must have thought of hyun joong as the hero of the drama from the beginning.
