Bae Yong-joon is a classic. The highest paid South Korean celeb rose to fame in the 2002 KBS's mega hit "Winter Sonata". He did not only become a celebrity, but a worldwide superstar.The sensible good-looking gentleman began melting women's hearts as a youngster with his debut role in the 1994 KBS drama "Barefoot Days". His role in the 2003 movie "Untold Scandal" began to jeopardize his standing as Korea's #1 main man. However, MBC's 2007 drama "The Legend" brought out the best in Yon-sama! He is known for his classic good looks and signature eyeglasses. He will remain a true "Legend" to all K-drama fans.

Hi Anonymous! Wow so many questions. Alright, I'll try to answer your queries the best that I could.
How old if BYJ? He was born on Aug 29, 1972 and that makes him 38. He's the same age as Jang Dong Gun.
Why is he called Yonsama? He's been given the title Yonsama [Lord Yon] because of the level of populariy he gained in Japan when 'Winter Sonata' was shown there. He started Hallyu and he's the most recognized Korean celebrity in Japan.
Is the vid recent? the video was in 2008 when he went to japan for the promotion of 'Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi'.
Does he always sports long hair? Nope. He had his long hair when he did Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi because he doesn't like wearing extension. After the drama has ended he kept his hair long until middle of last year.
what is his latest movie? so far we are still waiting for his next project. for now all we know is he's busy planning the project with JYP 'Dream High'. He will co-product this. To know more about 'Dream Hign' you may check it in my blog.
does he sing? he sings only when with his close friends. ^^ but he plays the guitar and piano well.
does he own KE? he owns majority of KE.

The book will soon be available in English, Chinese and Japanese. As for promotional activites for this book, we still have to know from KE.

nope he is not married but most of his fans wish that he will soon make an announcement. seeing someone? yong joon is a very private person so we really wouldn't know. but we are assuming he is dating someone.
you might want to know too if he had a girlfriend that he announced publicly, the answer is yes. lee sa gan. [she's one of Jung Min's visitor during the opening of Royal Ave]. You may also check her in my blog or BYJ thread @ soompi. She's a director who studied in UK.

Totally agree to anonymous 1:50. BYJ is a classic and a legend among hallyu stars.
Hyun Joong resembles him in many aspects such as honesty, sincerity, caring, warmheartedness, high IQ, hard-working as well as outstanding appearance. So Hyun Joong can be called 'little yonsama'.
Will support them always......
BYG is already a Legend can get enough of him in Winter Sonata, The Legend and Hotelier...clasic dramas.

Like Anonymous above, I myself have gotten hooked with BYJ. At first it was because of KHJ. But there is really something enigmatic about him. I am now a certified FAN!
Now I know KHJ is in really good hands, to be mentored by no less than his older look-alike BYJ.
BYJ's discipline, kind-heartedness and talent make him deserve the label YONSAMA.
