KHJ is the 2nd BYJ?

I came across an article in BYJGallery yesterday about two of my favorites, Bae Yong Joon and Kim Hyun Joong.

[note : this is not the 1st time i've seen/read articles of KHJ being compared to BYJ. actually in another article he was even called by Kamio Yoko, author of 'Hana Yori Dango' as Little Bae Yong Joon]

In the article it says that Kim Hyun Joong is the second Bae Yong Joon. After KHJ has accepted the role of Yoon Ji Hoo in the Korean adaptation of 'Hana Yori Dango', he is being compared with Yong Joon in terms of popularity.

Recently, we've known that the movie and drama industry in Korea are on the down trend. With the coming of young stars according to the article, there is a good side to it. Young stars are needed because the reigning Hallyu stars are aging and that there is a need for younger generation to ignite the Hallyu and sustain its popularity.

The article also mentioned about SS501 where in KHJ is a member and leader of the group, already has a following in Japan. This is where KHJ and BYJ differs since we all know that Yong Joon is not a performer.

But with the comparison in terms of popularity, the article said that it is possible that KHJ will get the younger fan base in Japan and that it will be for the benefit of Hallyu because KHJ and BYJ can have both shares of fan bases in Japan.

From what have been told to me by a friend, there were only two Korean dramas in Japan that are considered to be a big success, 'WLS' and 'Daejangeum'. Nobody expected 'WLS' to be such a big hit. Could it be possible because Jun Sang/Lee Mhin Hyung was able to capture to hearts of many Japanese women because of his gentleness? Could Yoon Ji Hoo of 'Boys Over Flower' be able to capture the hearts of the Japanese women as well because of his gentleness? Could he be the next favorite son-in-law of the Japanese women?

Though I strongly believe that KHJ still has a lot to do to be able to even go the the level of BYJ's popularity, the fact that he's being compared to him is already an accomplishment. I'm hoping and wishing that he'll be the Hallyu star.

Anyway, back to the article. As for SS501, the article says that while an idol or idol group has many contacts inside Japanese entertainment unlike actors who are relatively working with agencies in South Korea and the contacts of idol or group idols are decreasing in Japan. This means that idol groups need to collaborate with Japanese agencies like what the DBSK is doing. DBSK is connected with Avex Trax and of course Johnny's entertainment. Hee, no wonder the group is doing great in Japan.

Let's see, SS501 had their 1st break in Japan in late 2007 and they did well in 2008 as well. But i think that the group still has to do more to be able to be on the same level as DBSK. I hope that in their upcoming comeback they'll be able to do very well [i'm so confident about this ^^]. I really believe that the group now is several levels up in terms of popularity. I believe this is so because of their determination and they've really matured. Likewise, with leader even becoming more popular after 'We Got Married' and 'BoF', he was able to bring SS501 up with him.

The boys will be leaving for the US on May 16 for a 10-day preparation for their upcoming album which will be released in July. But before that on April 16 they will be in Japan together with the 'Boys Over Flowers' casts. But KHJ will be flying in much early than the others to be able to rest. Likewise, he'll be flying out later for more rest according to DSP.

Below is an article related to SS501's upcoming trip to Japan from KBS World

SS501 to Wows Japanese Fans

Hot male quintet SS501 is going to Japan to reignite their career there. This time all five members of the team will be present to wow Japanese fans. SS501 has been working as a trio called Triple S for the past few months, while Kim Hyun-joong was starring in the drama "Boys over Flowers" and Park Jung-min in the musical "Grease."

The group's first appearance in Japan will be at an appreciation event for the fans of "Boys over Flowers" at the JCB Hall in Tokyo on April 16. SS501 will appear as guest singers and perform "I'm a Fool" from the original soundtrack of "Boys over Flowers."

In early May SS501 will go on a two-day trip to Jeju Island with their Japanese fans. A variety of special events are scheduled for the trip, including games, a garden party, and mini concerts. Then the quintet will depart for the U.S. on May 6th to prepare for their second regular album, before returning to Japan to release their second album in Japan titled "All My Love" and hold an event celebrating the album release in Tokyo.

SS501 is also planning an Asian tour with stops in Japan, China, and Taiwan in July. It appears the five heartthrobs will be kept pretty busy for the next few months

There'll be lots of trips for the boys in the coming days and they'll be seen at the airports. I'm certain that there will be lots of videos that will be coming out when these days come. I hope that there will be something like this... ^^

...clear and quite long ^^

This video was taken when Hyun Joong was at Incheon airport last December. He and the cast of BoF are at the airport on their way to Macau to shoot scenes for BoF. In this video you'll see him being with Haiming [a Chinese] of A'st1 who appeared in 'BoF' in the Macau. Nice to see KHJ being a big brother to him. ^^ They're in the same management company.

Btw, you'll also see Lee Min Hoo and Kim Bum in the video. ^^

Yes he's but hopefully he wouldn't turn too feminine later as BYJ .

I can't agree more to Kamio Yoko.

Hyun Joong has a big potential to take over BYJ's position as a huge star. He is so cute but sexy and manly.
