Male group SS501 heated up mecca Budokan during their Japan concert.
SS501 held their ‘ASIA TOUR PERSONA IN JAPAN’ at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan, on 13-Aug, 2 sessions at 1pm & 7pm, and met with about 30,000 fans.
Budokan Japan can hold 15,000 audiences, and is the center for Japan’s music performances. This venue was used by World-class stars such as Beyonce, Elton John, Christina Aguilera,etc, as well as Hallyu star representatives such as DongBangShinGi, Park YongHa, Ryu ShiWon, etc. SS501’s name was also honorably added on to this list.
They sold out all 30,000 seats which reaffirms their popularity within Japan. Though it is obvious that the members are very nervous on this first oversea concert of their Asia Tour, with their special team work, they put on an even more stable stage manner than their Seoul concert on 1~2 Aug. Sportshankook will reveal our exclusive report on SS501’s Budokan Concert which they left their first footprint representing going towards an even bigger stage.
#1 Nervous despite debut for 5 years
Just before going up on stage, even a veteran singer would also feel the great nervousness. This is the same for SS501 members who has went on many large-scale stage performances. For some reasons, it is amusing to see the members’ expression when they lost their laughter to nervousness. However, as soon as the members went up on stage, they pounced on the stage as if they had not been nervous about it at all.
#2 Dandy ‘HyungJoon’
Kim HyungJoon performed his solo ‘Hey G’. This song is made by himself. He is the only one among the team members to wear such dandy clothing during this performance and together with his sensational dance, he captivated the Japanese fans. Even though he is playing the ‘baby’ role in the team, he displayed a fairly matured manly feeling on stage.
#3 Witty ‘KyuJong’
Kim KyuJong made a mischievous expression towards the camera at the backstage. Like the team’s ‘mode-maker’, he is a member who jokes around a lot at the waiting room. We heard that he kept on joking and playing pranks in order to relief the members’ tension on their upcoming Asia Tour’s first oversea concert. He displayed a matured side of himself with his solo song ‘Wuss Up’ performance on stage.
#04 With ease ‘JungMin’
Park JungMin was reading fan letters with ease at the waiting room. He left the group activities for awhile to perform for musical ‘Grease’, so he attended to this concert more positively than any other members. He shivered at an idle remark “What to do if I lose my place?”. He read fan letters to get the feeling of actualization of attending this concert.
#5 Mellifluous ‘YoungSaeng’
Member Heo YoungSaeng sang his self-made ‘Memories without a Name’ for his solo performance. His song composing talent can be seen through this song and Heo YoungSaeng especially made it for this concert. Thus, this song was highly anticipated among the fans prior to its release. Heo YoungSaeng’s beautiful voice was spread throughout the concert venue and the fans responded in unison.
#6 Wildish ‘HyunJoong’
The moment that recorded the highest heat during this days’ concert was during Kim HyunJoong’s solo performance. Kim HyunJoong sang ‘Please Treat Me Well’ and had an intimate dance with a female dancer mesmerizing the fans. Halfway through his performance, he ripped apart his shirt and revealed his muscles of his upper body making the Japanese fans scream and heating up the passion even more at the concert venue.

#7 Congratulations for Entering to Budokan
The ‘Entering Budokan’ congratulatory gift sent by fans to the waiting room had gathered attention. The gift, which was made into the shape of Budokan, gave the members a sense of actualization for completing their ‘Dream Stage’ Budokan.

#8 You Are My Heaven
The concert’s finale is concluded with ‘You’re my heaven’. This song is filled with member’s heart with the idea of ‘Anywhere is heaven as long as we’re together with our fans’. Members are gradually more at ease as the concert continues, and at their final stage, they felt pity to have to bid farewell to their fans. “We are happy to have realized our dream of standing on stage in Budokan”, hearing the members’ words, fans clapped enthusiastically to spur them on. Members will continue with their Asia Tour till early next year to countries like Thailand, HongKong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.
