According to this source that Mariposa sent in my email...

Kyu Jung was shooting a teen drama, with the host of music bank, Seo Hyo-rim [she's also the girl from 'World Within']. The teen drama will start on October 6 and will be aired every Tuesday and Friday with a total of 16 episodes.

The busiest member of of SS501 was seen today shooting some scenes for one episode of 'Green Gold'.

Don't you think that he's looking cute in a police officer's [?] uniform?

I know some who are going to attend this November 14 event in Hongkou Soccer Stadium which will start at 7:30pm. Here's seat plan just in case you still haven't seen it.

As I was so busy yesterday, I forgot to post these photos of Yong Joon [who happens to have a much shorter hair than the last time] and Ji Woo at Gimpo airport yesterday. The went to Tokyo, Japan for the WLS Anime Promo that happened tonight [photos will be posted later].

As earlier reported, Yong Joon and Ji Woo took the same flight. Not sure though how accurate the report that both will be taking a chartered plane.

BYJ told the press that he feels he came back to 7 years ago when he did the dubbing .

“I am really appreciated that once again I feel the warmth from WLS. Thanks to the family that I can review WLS. The animated image of Junsang is younger than I am now.”

Both BYJ and CJW have expressed their positive attitude towards future collaboration

CJW revealed the possibility for her future collaboration with BYJ by saying that: "We’ve had a good experience in collaborating with each other. If there is a good script in the future, I believe we will make a better work.”

They two also disclosed that it was really a tough job to do the dubbing.

BYJ "It is difficult to express the emotions through the voice. Most of the time, I have to use my breath to present the feelings”

CJW: "At the beginning, I thought to do the dubbing would be much easier than do TV shoots. It’s hard to express the feeling in small space like in the dubbing studio. I still remember that there is a running scene and in order to perform realistically, I was running in the studio when I do the dubbing. Now I am getting more used to the dubbing.”

BYJ has been keeping long hair for 3 years since his last work “TWSSG” and now he cut his hair short. A lot of his fans feel unaccustomed to his new hair style. BYJ said he would like to present a new image to the public that's why he got his hair cut.

CJW revealed her opinion on the animated image of Yujin “ The animated image is younger but more cute. Yujin’s image is more open in animated version than in the TV version which let me feel difficult to handle when I do the dubbing.”

WLS has brought great reputation to BYJ and CJW in Asia. Their collaboration in animated WLS is the first time in 7 years since their last one in TV Version of WLS. When animated WLS was in the preparation stage, BYJ personally communicated with CJW asking her to do the dubbing for Yujin.

BYJ:”After reading the script, I contacted CJW. After 7 years, our appearance and thoughts may change, but after doing the dubbing, I feel that I am back to 7 years ago. It is really a warm feeling . Once again I feel the passion of First Love. I am happy in doing the dubbing.

BYJ expressed that "The animated version enriches the content of the whole story which is impossible to fulfill in the TV version. Especially it reveals the story of that 3 years when Junsang and Yujin were apart with each other. And also there are some scenes of U.S and Paris which cannot be made in the TV version, but which is put into realistic in the animated version. It is the merit."

Fans flocked at Tokyo Dome to watch the reunion of Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo tonight. Geez, there were more than 45,000 fans who watched them at Tokyo Dome! And this isn't even a concert!

In ‘Family Outing’, a section off SBS ‘Sunday is Good’ broadcasted on 27-Sep, Kim HyunJoong prepared breakfast with Yoon JongShin, Lee Hyori, Big Bang Seungri (real name Lee SeungHyun).

Kim HyunJoong who is widely known as a Lee Hyori fan said “I know all of Lee Hyori’s songs” and had an impromptu Fin.K.L song parade. Kim HyunJoong remembered the lyrics of the songs from 10 years ago with accuracy and Lee Hyori did the famous ‘Hyori hairdo’.

In addition, Kim HyunJoong said “I even did this in a concert” and performed ‘To my boyfriend’, winning praises of ‘He’s pretty’. Kim HyunJoong said “When Fin.K.L bread was released, I thought I was going to get crazy when I can’t get Lee Hyori sticker” making Lee Hyori satisfied with this remark.

In the SBS variety show 'Family Outing - Kim Hyun Joong Edition Part 2' which was broadcast on 27 Sept, Kim Hyun Joong revealed: "When in USA, I went to night club together with Hyori noona, that was my first time to night club.", "On that day, the way noona dance made me very shocked, for the first time I felt ashamed because of Hyori noona." Kim Hyun Joong's reveals made Hyori panic.


Lee Hyori expressed: "Is it? How come I can't even remember anything about this?" to avoid the topic. However, Kim Hyun Joong immediately reenact the actual scene during that time. Lee Hyori then nod her head and admitted: "Maybe during that time noona was a little excited."

Whew! Finally I'm able to visit and post here. Been very very busy again. As I've said earlier, it'll be a busy week for me. But then... there's a recently development. Due the the aftermath and damaged caused by the recently tropical storm that hit our country, our management decided to postpone the major event that we are hosting on Oct 1 to 2 to Oct 29. This is to great decision, since celebrating at this time is not appropriate when our fellowmen are recovering from the disaster that they typhoon brought.

Anyway, this means that I can give updates until I start my vacation on the 15th.

I have received this set photos from Mariposa since early this morning. But like what I said was busy talking to people regarding the postponement, I put this on hold. Now that everything has settled down, I'm now sharing you these photos from Prettyboy. Much thanks again to Maripos for sending these over to me.

Look at Maknae his face is so small. I know who Korean's love small faces but Maknae face is getting to small because his getting too thin. I really think that fans should do something about Maknae's health. I'm sure they don't want another illness affecting the boys' acitivies in the near future.

Maknae with eyeliner in Wonder+Full Korea Concert

Fans of Maknae are also so fans in uploading his photos whenever there's an appearance of him. Like Jun photos were just uploaded on SS601.com by 준이처럼.

If you notice, Maknae is again wearing eyeliner which doesn't conceal his eyebags. ^^ [though eyeliner doesn't really conceal eyebags... ^^] . Anyway, he's getting thinner and thinner. I hope his doing something about it. I was looking at old videos and photos of him yesterday and I really really like him when his cheeks are a bit puffier.

SS501 performed many songs including 'Because I'm Stupid' at the Wonder Full Concert on 27 Sept, 6 pm at the Olympic Park.

But, Kim Hyun Joong was nowhere to be seen.

The members said that Kim Hyun Joong has not been well recently, and today he is also not feeling well so he couldn't perform on stage. "We are in the midst of preparing for the 2nd album, the album will have new songs, hope everyone would wait."

When the host asked about the album, Kim Hyung Joon said "This is the album we have been preparing for 2 years. Everyone will be able to see it within a month, the style is different from previously, hope everyone would not be shocked and please support us!"

Heo Young Saeng was asked about the Personal Tour. "The Seoul and Japan stops have ended. Was a bit nervous when the tour first started. Will go to countries that we have never been before, quite excited, hope that we will quickly go to other countries and show our best to everyone."

Alright, now that I've finished posting all eight parts of 'Family Outing' from shirbogirl's YT channel. I'm going to post next another set of photos of Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Jong, Heo Young Saeng and Park Jung Min from the Wonder+Full Korea Concert that was held earlier.

This is the first time the only four of SS501 are doing activity and I think this will go on until their concert in Taiwan on October 17. According to some news report, they said at the concert that for the meantime that Kim Hyun Joong is still trying to recover, only the four of them will be doing activities. But I'm assuming that this will only be in Seoul [TV guesting and public appearances]. Likewise, they also mentioned [confirming the news that the Taiwan newspaper reported] that the album will be released last week of October [and this makes me sad because I was anticipating the release of the album 1st or 2nd week of October, while I'm in Seoul].

Sigh... what can we do. We can't force the issue, Hyun Joong got sick.

But Kim Hyung Joon said that, let's be more patient and wait for their coming and see a SS501 new image.

As some of you do not know. Yong Joon doesn't have a good relationship with Korean media. Why? Because Yong Joon doesn't want to give much interviews and he doesn't like appearing in any show other than dramas where he appeared in. He hardly appears in public. With this kind of attitude, the Korean media finds him arrogant. But ever since Yong Joon started, he is like this and they've misinterpreted him. Likewise, he's not the kind of actor who would use media in every thing that he does.

But after 'TWSSG' a.k.a. 'Legend', I believe that the media has somehow changed their way of thinking about Yong Joon. Little by little they've started to understand the kind of person he is. His sincerity and his intentions. When before there was a group of media who would do nothing but write negative things about him, as time goes by, I find this group dwindling down in numbers.

When the announcement of his book was made, may still doubted his intentions. But when the book had its launch in Korea recently, many again changed their impression on him.

[Trans]Reporters’ gathering for a commemorative event for the publication of the BYJ’s book

Actually,
Jeong Woo Seong and Jang Dong Gun’s movie previews were

Manpower of Korea Entertainment news was divided into 3 today
because there were 3 big events that would be held for
Jeong Woo Seong, Jang Dong Gun and Bae Yong Yoon.

But, the location where most reporters gathered was
the commemorative event for the publication of BYJ’s book.

A certain broadcasting company could not attend one of
the two remaining events.

Another company decided to interview the other two later on and
all of them came to Bae Yong Joon’s event.

Anyway,

That is the reason why many,
Reporters gathered at BYJ’s.

A certain reporter said,

BYJ’s events treat reporters very well.
But that might not be the reason why the reporters gathered.

But,
They treated us very well.


The picture above is the USB that was handed to us before the event.
It was a 4GB and said that it was designed by an artisan of
the lacquered wood inlaid shells.

It wasn’t my favorite style,
but everyone was so happy to have it because it was a 4GB.

A certain team said that they came at 8 am and put their names
as the first, and next team came at 9 am.. just like that.
This field is very competitive in every way.

People are most sensitive at this time because they want to occupy
a good spot for shooting which depends on who enter first.

Originally, we’re supposed to enter the hall according to the order of the list
which we wrote down this morning, but we could see this kind of mess often
due to their strong nerves because some didn’t want lose their turns, and
some actually thought that they would enter according to the order of the line.


In this chaos, assistant producer Hanchang (His full name is Seo, Hanchang)
and I are concentrating to take pictures. He said that he was going to
show BYJ’s pictures to his mother.

He has a well-developed figure. I mean it.

Recently, Bae Yong Joon was hospitalized for sepsis due to his hectic
schedule for publication.
He had a bad complexion and his voice was quivering while he was

All of them praised BYJ highly.

Even though they live in the country side..
They have been living over 50 years and aren’t fools at all.

If his goal was to make money, or didn’t work hard, or showed his
shallowness, then they surely sense or know his intention.

But, all of them, with one voice, talked about BYJ’s warmness as human,
diligence, meticulousness, and passionate.

They became ‘masters’ because they devoted themselves in one thing,
and BYJ was recognized by ‘these masters’

I thought that the praise didn’t come without efforts
This occurred to me while I was listening to their praises.

And another thing I was envious of him

A while ago,
I mentioned this when I published the paper on the Cyworld.

Later,
If I have a chance,

I want to visit the masters of our traditional musical instruments,
learn the procedures on how to make the musical instruments one by one,
watch and interview them.

up tea with a gourd and drink it’.

Such a sincere way..


Songpyuns (suehan: it is half-moon shaped and filled with stuffing
made from sesame seed and sugar. The dish is always steamed on top
of pine needles.) were really tasty.

One bottle of 3 kinds of traditional liquor which were brewed by
the master of traditional liquor was inside of each bag.

I took Gamhongro.

Gamhongro is; “It is the special liquor of Gaeseong providence and
special distilled liquor of Korea that Lithospermum erythrorhizonv, cinnamonand honey were added to make the aroma and color while Soju was distilled."

I kept this liquor in a deep pIace where I keep my ‘good’ things to drink
with good friends on a nice day.

I'm not kidding nor exaggerating but really tears welled in my eyes after reading this review of a Korean writer on the book that Bae Yong Joon have written about the beauty of Korean.

Whether you are a fan of Yong Joon or not, please find time to read this. The writer is NOT a fan of Bae Yong Joon, she's even ashamed of the book she's holding inside the bookstore, she detested herself for flipping the book of Yong Joon. But after browsing a few pages from the book, she only has beautiful words for Yong Joon.

For severe narcists like me, there is a remedy that is needed periodically at all costs.

The remedy is periodic blows of cold water on the back of one's head, which extinct the simmering fire of arrogance for a while and turn it into a tamed lamb. The blow is more effective when it comes from a person never expected.

Thankfully enough, there was a person who gave me such a huge blow on the back of my head and cured my narcissism very effectively. I felt thankful and sorry for the person that I decided to blog here after a year's silence.

Yesterday, I went to a large bookstore in Kangnam to spend time. I was heading to the corner that I used to visit, but something attracting my female instinct came into my eyes. It was a photo of a man's appearance from the back. It was in the front page of the "Yon-sama Book" that all the TVs and internet media had been reporting loudly the day before.

I was not his anti, but I was not quite fond of him, either. The fact that I was attracted by his photo for a moment annoyed me.

I was about to walk away, but the fact that a thumb-sized back of Yonsama could attract me with such a strong force annoyed me again.

"OK," I said to myself, "it's just a book of an 'ordinary entertainer', right?"
I gave a snort, picked the book up, stood in an arrogant posture, and started to skim through the pages with one hand - like skimming a women's magazine.

At that moment, a middle-aged woman suddenly appeared from nowhere, and gazed shyly at a 'Yonsama book' - which was laid next to my arrogant hand - for a while. After a while, she carefully picked that 'Yonsama book' with both hands in even shyer manner, held it in her arms, and quietly walked away.

It might be the strange aftereffect of the 'shy lady' that made me feel ashamed of my arrogant posture. Unwillingly, I held that 'Yonsama book' properly with both hands - in the way that I handle a 'book' - and started to have a look again from the first page.

There were Forewords of VIPs as if to match the name value of Yonsama.
Then followed the Table of Contents (stay - leave - clear away - contemplate - return - leave again), which was not expected for an ordinary entertainer's book.
As I felt annoyed for the third time with the 'contents', I skipped the preface of the writer, that I would never skip in other books.

I was going to skim through the pages, but I had to stop after a couple of pages.
A photo that gave me very similar impression with the 'shy lady' stopped my eyes.
It was a black-and white photograph of three pairs of black rubber shoes neatly laid on a terracing stone.

On the next page, there were two short lines.
"The table of mother, the tears of mother"

I used to scoff at the movie 'Titanic', and threw a cynical smile at Winter Sonata (even though my sister was shedding tears sitting by me). However, I felt like falling on my knees at this single photo, shouting "yes, sir!"

I didn't want to admit this embarrassing and unexpected situation, and carefully looked at the photo once more. To me, who had some knowledge on photography, BYJ's photo was not technically surprising enough to give me such embarrassment I was feeling. It was rather honest and peaceful to the extent that one might think it was a bit too simple. Yet it had the strange power that attracted my eyes.

I read the next page. There was a traditional-styled roof covered with white snow. Above the roof, there was the sun, which was hard to tell whether it was rising or going down. I watched it for a while, and read the next page.

In his photo and essay, there were sincerity and honesty that I came across after a long time. The photo was telling plain stories, without pretension, to me. The essay was covering the story that the photo was telling us. It was this specific character that was strangely attracting my heart.

I know that this place is a board for writing reviews and I know that I should introduce more about this book, but I feel I am not eligible for reviewing this book.

However, I do have words to tell people who watch a 'person' named Bae Yong Joon through glasses thickly covered with arrogance, just like I did two days ago.

Right now, do pick up 'the book of BYJ' and start a journey in search of the beauty of Korea.

At the end of that journey, you will find a friend, who has the same beauty with that country, standing by you.

P.S. this news was shared by a good friend and she read it in Taiwan news. Not sure how accurate. According to what she read, the most anticipated all Korean album of SS501 will come out by end of October. What?!

Dang! I'm hoping that this is not true since I'm really expecting the album to be released early October so that I can purchase when I go to Seoul next month.

Cultural, Sports & Tourism ministry anounced the singer list in Wonder + Full Korea Concert. The singers include G-Dragon, SS501, SG Wanna be, Kim Jun (T-Max) and others Hallyu singers. This activity is one of the main activities of the 2009 Korea Grand Sale. Named as 'Wonder + Full Korea Concert, it will be held on 27 September at Seoul Olympic Park Fencing Hall.

Due to their increasing popularity from acting in 'Boys over Flowers', SS501's Kim Hyun Joong and T-Max's Kim Jun's performance received wide concerned. Also, the singers who sung the OST 'Only You' of 'Shining Inheritance' would also participate in the concert.

The more special things is, because the participated singers has great reputation in local and oversea, many program items have a special design, such as Kim Jun who has already given notice in his official website mentioning about the special performance, creating much anticipation among fans from local & oversea. In addition, during the concert, many different types of activity would be arranged, such as interviews and also photoshoot with fans and etc... The organizer's main purpose is to create a performance that not only include a singing concert but hope to present it like a large scale fan meeting, to have fun together, allowing fans from local & oversea to participate in it.

Korea Grand Sale is a typical program organized by South Korea's to promote its tourism. Today I feel a little happiness. Emm...... actually it is nothing much.
In the morning, suddenly got a call from our manager hyung.
He sounded very urgent. With very anxious voice he said:

"Hyung Joong ah! Kyu Jong is not feeling well!"

Suddenly heard that my team mate was sick.
And it is not any other person, it is Kyu Jong falling sick. Errr.....
This is why I was shocked once hearing this news.

"Ah..... Is it true....?" (Crying tone.... TT_TT)

Because I was too sad, my emotion suddenly welled up...
No matter what he is our team mate ah, a team mate who is like a brother is sick now, my tears started to flow out.
Therefore, I cried....
Really very very sad. Ah.... something serious has happened.... I am thinking in this way...

They said they bluffed me! Once again, I was cheated again.... I am really....
Ah... When I think of that time it was a bit.... Em....~
Our president, manager hyung and Kyu Jong,
all 3 of them discuss together to bluff me!!!

They've made fun of Maknae again and he has shown his sensitivity once more. Ahh, poor Baby cried. He cried first because he got worried, then upon learning that he's been fooled, he cried again because of anger. He tricked them! I wish I've seen this. ^^ Anyway, but the joke made him realized that how precious each member of SS501 to him especially Kyu Jong.

This joke on Maknae happened on Wednesday I just don't have any idea whether it was before or after the live broadcast of 'Music High'.

Anyway, during the live broadcast of 'Music High', Maknae played Kara's 'Wanna' and he joined in the singing which is soooooo cute! I found a link in Baidu and I'm sharing it here.

the king of pout

Just got home and it's been another busy day for me at work. So many meetings to attend to, many suppliers to follow up on, on top of the endless phone calls, visitors and backlogs. Geez, things would have been easy if the time frame that was given us to do this annual event would have been the usual 3-months notice. But with so many things that happened over the past months, with only three months left before our fiscal year ends we have no choice but to fast track one of the biggest event we have annually. And fast track means one month working period for a 2 nights 3 days event. Sigh...

At times like this I welcome the fact that we are in some sort of a 'break' with SS501. ^_^ But then, over at the other side... meaning Bae Yong Joon side, it's the opposite. We're having some sort of a feast which I cannot properly enjoy due to work. Sigh again... And this will go on until next week... when Yong Joon will be in Japan and SS501 might just be releasing their new album. Boo huhuhu...

Geez, I'm home and still thinking of work... enough! This time should be spent looking for new stuffs. Alright, I'll have my fingers do some 'walking' and enough of 'talking' to check on what's new...

After 15 minutes....

I'm back nothing much on SS501 but plenty on BYJ side which I'm might not post anymore since they're somehow the same news and photos [but different sources] I posted last night and the other day with some additional info about his arrival in Japan. ^_^

When was the last time we saw him? About 2 weeks ago when three of members came back from Japan after the BoF Premium Event, right? Amongst the members, he's the only one we've not seen nor heard over the past 2 weeks [though it was reported that he left several replies in UFO].

Alright, so I'll blog about Jung Min. But what particularly about him that would interest visitors? Aha! Photos of Jung Min doing the cutest pout on earth. You like that? I do!

I had this in my draft for the longest time [to be exact April 12, 2009] but wasn't able to post. The reason? Hee, I already forgot. ^_^

I've been looking for something to post but couldn't find that interests me. I'm even thinking of a topic to blog about SS501 but my mind just wouldn't cooperate. Then I thought of going over my draft items to check if there are anything that I haven't posted yet. And lo! I found this. After school, I rushed to the bus station to take the KTX express line and then I changed to taxi to the museum. Some fan told me that YJ had already entered into the museum and he would be out soon. It was said that the commemorative meeting would begin at 4:00pm, but suddenly it changed to 2:00pm. My class didn’t finish at 2:00 and I could not just leave the class. Sigh…. Cannot see him…. I kept talking to other fans and I wandered among the fans like I was running crazy.

They told me that I should first find the parking space of YJ’s car and then after YJ coming out, I should just follow him so that I could see him for a lon

ger time. There are some reporters around and each of them was carrying a small paper bag. I asked one of them about the contents in the bag. He told me that the bag was prepared by BOF, there are YJ’s new book, a booklet and a small bottle of wine inside it. He even showed it to me. Wow! It’s awesome! Just looking at those pictures almost let me faint and I can hardly breathe anymore.

Suddenly, with someone’s yelling “ah!”, here came BYJ. His face was so shiny and very small. He is very tall and he has his own charisma. When he approached to me, actually it was first time for me to see him. Oh my! he was so slim, actually very thin. Seeing this, I feel my heart is in ache. Don’t know whether he wanted to show his consideration to us fans or he was still in recovering from his illness, YJ walked very slowly. He looked very handsome in his short hair, my heart was beating very fast as well as feeling painful. How come a person can suffer that much by writing a book? If so, I would rather he never write a book.

I followed him until half meter to his car. I put his image, his face, his impression –all of him in my eyes and in my mind. He let the seniors, those artisans get into the car first and then he himself walked around the car to get into from the door on the other side. He walked by me. Even though he looked pale and his eyes are congestive, he still looked charming and so handsome. Someone pushed me from the back which gave me a good chance to lean over him. I secretly touched his back. How I eager to hold him from the back, to throw myself to him, but I managed to control myself. By looking at him, my heart was full of happiness, however by looking at him who is still suffering from his illness, my heart feels painful. I feel sorry for YJ.

It’s just like a dream. All of these are like in a dream. I felt faintness. I feel excited as well as heartburn for my first time to see BYJ. My tears shed.

When I came out, I saw those reporters again. We told them that BYJ has done a lot of good things and he has a lot of fans in Korea, so please report with reality, with true stories.

Some fans ran into “the Gorilla in the Kitchen” [BYJ's restaurant] afterwards. As I didn’t tell my hubby my real whereabouts, I went back home with tears. Those fans that ran into the restaurant saw BYJ again.

Now when I think about this meeting, everything is just like a dream.

It's in the news that the 4th printing of the Book were all sold out.
It is reported that KeyEast can not cope with the demand.
They're rushing the 5th printing.
That's only for the Korean version.

The spokesman from the publisher said that they'll still have to add up all
the reservations before they can come up with the total volumes.
The news didn't say how many volumes were printed.
Since they are just talking about the Korean Version,
She's guessing that the Japanese Version is still open for reservation,
although, they are just limited to order 1 book per reservation,
aside from the fact that they still have to wait till Oct 15.

I’ve been blogging so much about SS501 lately and very few times I’ve blogged about Bae Yong Joon. I know that most of my visitors now are young who doesn’t even know Bae Yong Joon or who doesn’t care who this Hallyu Star is.

Regardless whether you know him or not, whether you like him or not, I wish that you will spend a few minutes of your time to read the Q&A portion at the press conference of Bae Yong Joon yesterday for his book ‘Beauty of Korea’. Know a little of Bae Yong Joon, it won’t hurt.

Thank you very much for attending this meeting.
This is my first press meeting for publishing a book, and I feel embarrassed, nervous, and happy at the same time.
I hope you consider the book that I will introduce you as my record as a beginner of studying Korean culture, not as a book specializing in culture.

- I heard that you fell ill with sepsis. How is your present condition?
▲ I am sorry to make everyone worry. I am getting well, and I received much power after meeting the masters today.

- Would you tell us how you feel after writing your book?
▲ There are many reasons that made me write this book. In an interview I had in Japan, I was asked to introduce places of note in Korea. I was ashamed because I couldn't give good answer to that question. Also, when I met my Family coming to see me working at the shooting site, I felt sorry for them because they spend most of their time at the shooting site, and I hoped to introduce them good places to enjoy.

At first, I planned to introduce celebrated localities and good restaurants, but I change my mind. I thought that if I introduce Korean culture, how Koreans feel and express themselves, it would help people notice the deeper meaning of things otherwise they won't notice when visiting the same place.

It was a hard work to write this book, but thanks to the support of these masters, I could finish writing. I am thankful that I managed to finish this book without trouble.

- Did you write this all by yourself?
▲ (Smiling) I wrote it by myself.

- How did you choose the themes?
▲ There are 13 themes, and I chose some from things I was always interested, and some were introduced by others. My journey to meet and interview the masters were arranged like riding on a flow of water. Through books, newspapers, and through acquaintance... I met one master and then another. I thought 'this might be what is called karma'.

- How much are you satisfied with your book?
▲ I am not satisfied. Whenever I feel not satisfied, I say to myself I could do better next time. The most difficult part of writing this book was meeting the deadline. It was really hard to write in time. (Like other people,) I couldn't speed up my writing till the last moment (laugh). Because the entire process was delayed, the editing staffs had to work very hard. I would like to say here that I am sorry and thankful for their help.

- Are you planning to write another book?
▲ I think it is time to plan for another drama (or movie) than a book. I feel very sorry to my Family for my long absence. However, writing a book is a very interesting process. If I write another book, I will introduce celebrated localities and good restaurants, which has more photographs and less words(laugh).

- Where was the most impressive pIace?
▲ There are so many good pIaces that it is difficult to choose one. However, Hwangryongsa-ji of Kyungju was the most impressive pIace. There is nothing left there and we can't see a thing. I don't know why, but that pIace made me immerse in deep thought. When I returned home, I thought 'maybe I missed something. I must visit there again.' It was such a pIace.

[ Hwangryongsa-ji is a pIace that there was a temple named Hwangryongsa.
It was built in 554AD in Shilla dynasty. It was destroyed when the Mongolia invaded and put fire on it in 13th century. There is no building left, and only stones that supported columns are remained to show us how large that temple was. It is the pIace that appears at the front cover of YJ's book. ]

- Among various things you've experienced, what would you like to continue doing?
▲ I would like to become a farmer. I want to step on the ground and touch soil. I think I will feel happy to plant and harvest things and share healthy food with others. I've learned many other things and I want to do them, too, but if I am to write one more line in my curriculum vitae, I would like to add that I am a farmer.

- What is your next plan?
▲ I will never become a singer. I can't sing well. If you visit me when I become a farmer, then maybe I could sing you a song. There will be no BYJ as a writer if there is no BYJ as an actor.

- Why did you fall ill? Would you give your message to your fans?
▲ The largest problem was losing weight. When I once asked someone about losing weight, he said, if I write a book once more, then I will gain weight.

I think my body got weak because I lost too much weight, and that's why I had to get hospitalized. I am now recovering. I am basically a healthy person, so I will recover soon. I am sorry to make my Family and my parents worry.

- Is there anything discontented with your work?
▲ I've studied really heard, but many things are discontented. I regret that I was short of time. The most regretful thing is, there is a flaw in my writing. In page 257 at the second bottom line, it is written 'western tower'. It should be 'eastern tower'. I am sorry.

There are many defects in my book, but I hope this could be a companion of your journey to explore Korea.

'Beauty of Korea' by Bae Yong Joon

I saw this posted by Gaulsan on BYJ's Quilt. After reading below's post it makes me want to have the book more even if it's in hangul because Yong Joon worked so hard for this book. Can't wait to get my own copy.

[Note] A short report on September 22, 2009

* It seemed that YJ spent too much energy over this book.
While walking in and out of the museum, his eyes were bright and his smile was beautiful, but his physical condition was.... so bad.
This was the first time that I thought YJ looked better in the photos than YJ himself.

* A fan who came with me luckily received YJ's book and I briefly had a chance to flip over it on our way back home.
Wow... the book has so many information in it, and so many thoughts of YJ.
In some part, he introduces professional information about the subjects, in other part, he writes down his thoughts calmly, and in another part, he writes down the dialogue between people as if relaying it to us.
There were photos on almost every pages.
No wonder it must have been a hard work to photograph, write, and edit it.

* After having a brief look over his book, I felt I cannot make strong request to make English version.
Very deep understanding and knowledge of Korean culture will be needed to translate the information, and very fluent English will be needed to deliver YJ's beautiful words properly.
I visited the bookstore of the museum yesterday, and there were only a few English books to introduce Korean culture.
I still wished if YJ's book could be introduced in English, because English readers will definitely like his deliberate work.

* When seeing YJ walking out of the museum,
I said to him "thank you for your hard work" and "please don't get sick."
I'm not sure whether my words reached his ears.

* Today, I felt so proud for the fact that the only actor whom I loved so far was this very man

Bae Yong-joon Dreams of Simple Farming Life


"If I get another job in later life, I would like to be a farmer. It would be nice to plant something, cultivate the fruit and give the healthy product to someone." So said the actor Bae Yong-joon in a press conference held at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan on Tuesday.

The superstar was promoting a book titled "Travel in Search of Korea's Beauty." He was flanked by twelve experts on Korean traditional culture including ceramics, traditional liquor and pansori, who provided valuable insights for the book.

"I decided to write the book because of an embarrassing moment when I was unable to respond promptly when asked to name great places to visit in Korea at a press conference in Japan," he said. "I felt bad that my fans from abroad spent their entire time watching me shoot films and then went back to their countries. I hope this book can help them understand Korean culture and sentiment."

Bae plans to write more books. "Writing has a unique charm. I would like to write books that introduce places worth visiting in Korea and gourmet restaurants in the future."

Having been hospitalized for five days before being released on Monday, Bae looked thin and pale. "I lost more than 10 kg while writing the book. My stamina dropped considerably, so I had to rest in hospital. I am recovering now so I’ll be healthy again soon," he said.

SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Bae Yong-joon, the celebrity identified with the Korean Wave, was embarrassed when he could not readily recommend a tourist attraction in his native country when asked by a foreign journalist at a news conference.

The incident motivated the 36-year-old actor to better understand South Korea's culture and share his findings with his fans, so he went on a year-long journey to write a book.

The book, titled "Travel in Search of Korea's Beauty," is a collection of photos and essays he wrote during his one-year sojourn, spanning indigenous traditions in cuisine, handicrafts, temples and dress-making.

"This book is not a professional book about Korean culture. It is about a beginner's journey in learning Korean culture," Bae said in news conference Tuesday, a day ahead of his book's release in Korea.

A top celebrity throughout Asia who rose to stardom through his role in "Winter Sonata," the first-time author said writing was a challenge.

"The most difficult thing about writing was meeting the deadline, as you know," he said to the hundreds of journalists at the press conference.

While working on the last chapters of the book, the self-proclaimed perfectionist said he lost nearly 10kg from the pressure to make his work as flawless as he could. He had been hospitalized in Seoul ahead of Tuesday's publicity event for extreme fatigue and stress, and was released Monday.

"I can't say this book represents Korean culture, but I just hope people can share my experience and learn more about the beauty of Korea and its culture."

More than 200 Japanese fans, mostly women, waited outside the conference room, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star.

Bae's management company, the Boundaries of Forest, already struck a deal with a Japanese publishing firm to sell the book in Japan. An estimated 800 million won (US$660,000) worth of books have already been sold ahead of next week's official release in Japan.

Btw, Panda Brenda I hope you didn't start your translation of the whole FO episode 64, seems like cagali/SS501UFO wants to share all Leader's dialogue. ^^

Sigh... it's been a busy day today at work. With the big event coming next week and other events to be organize before i go on vacation, it looks like i'll be needing more than 24 hours a day. ^_^ Hee, I'm not complaining, it's fun but i want more time to play... hehehehehe...

Anyway, I just did my usual rounds in SS501 community and seems like I didn't miss much. I'm glad that I left you guys earlier with Panda Brenda's translation.

Btw, she's asking if you guys want her to translate the entire 'Family Outing' episode. What do you think? Shirley? I'm sure if Brenda translates the whole episode she won't mind it if her translation will be used to sub the episode 64 of FO. ^^

Bae Yong-joon writes on beauty of his native country

South Korean actor Bae Yong-joon, the celebrity identified with the Korean Wave, was embarrassed when he could not readily recommend a tourist attraction in his native country when asked by a foreign journalist at a news conference, according to news reports.

Yonhap News said the incident motivated the 36-year-old actor to better understand South Korea's culture and share his findings with his fans, so he went on a year-long journey to write a book.

The book, titled "Travel in Search of Korea's Beauty," is a collection of photos and essays he wrote during his one-year sojourn, spanning indigenous traditions in cuisine, handicrafts, temples and dress-making.

"This book is not a professional book about Korean culture. It is about a beginner's journey in learning Korean culture," Bae said in news conference Tuesday, a day ahead of his book's release in Korea.

A top celebrity throughout Asia who rose to stardom through his role in "Winter Sonata," the first-time author said writing was a challenge.

"The most difficult thing about writing was meeting the deadline, as you know," he said to the hundreds of journalists at the press conference.

Bae Yong Joon... 'The Arrival'

The press conference of the book of Bae Yong Joon 'Beauty of Korea' pushed through. It was attended by about 300 to 400 media from Korea and other countries.

Yong Joon appeared with a new hair style. No more ponytail. He look slim.

Honestly, when I first saw the photo of his arrival at National Central Museum in Yongsan I didn't like his look. But as more photos came out especially when the photos of him inside the presscon I started to liking his new look.

Well, when he arrived, he actually looked nervous. It can be seen in his face. His smile is not the usual bright smile that we are used to. In my post in soompi, i even wrote that 'it pains me seeing him thin and not smiling the way i usually see him. his eyes lack the brightness.'

Anyway, you be the judge in the photos that I'll be posting. I will be posting three sets of photos [since there are tons of them]. First part is his arrival, second part is the press conference proper and the third departure from the venue.

Like what I mentioned in my previous post, Yong Joon look more relaxed when he was inside the National Central Museum where the presscon was held with over 300 media in attendance.

From the previous photos, you can see the difference of his smile and his aura.

Btw, for those who might have missed it, Yong Joon was hospitalized last Thursday due to blood poisoning and was only discharged yesterday afternoon.

I was mad at him when he insisted that the presscon be carried out. I was even saying in my post here and at soompi that i think that they should postponed in later this week since I'm certain that the media will understand.

But after seeing his guests at the presscon I then realized why he sacrificed his health and insisted on this. His guests of honor were his teachers while he was doing the book. I'm even prouder of him. He's such a considerate man. [but.... sssshhh... i'm still mad at him for not taking care of his health]

Following that, he invited 11 representative master artisans, who provided help to write the book and told behind stories as he introduced them one by one, saying, "I feel honored as I could have been with those people who are here, and as I can introduced them in this occasion."

Also, he gave (them) greetings of appreciation, saying "I thank them as they made me realized what is more important than money and reputation. I learned from these teachers heart to put in sincere heart."

In particular, he told, "If I would like to add one more in my occupation column, I like to add the 'farmer',", saying "I want to be a farmer. I want to step on ground, and to touch soil. Planting something and making it to produce fruits seems like a tremendously happy thing."
'Travel left to explore the beauty of Korea-BYJ' contains over 200 photos that BYJ personally experienced Korean tradition (from) 11 representative master artisans in various fields in Korea & 13 contents related to the traditional culture, to various regions of Korea.

This book, following pre-sale at 800 million won in Japan, is running at the top of reservation sale in Korea also, showing off BYJ's star power.

BYJ will plan to hold a commemorative meeting for publication along with Korea's master artisans in various fields, who were introduced in the book first in Korea to commemorate the publication of the book in both nations of Korea and Japan. In particular, he plans a large scale commemorative event for the publication together with 50,000 fans in the Tokyo Dome in Japan on the September 30.

I am sorry to make you worry. I gained much strength after meeting teachers. I am recovering well.

▶ What is the momentum to write the book and how you feel (about the book)?

The moment to wirte the book are so many. There was a shameful event when I could not answer properly when asked to introduce famous tourist sites iin Korea at a press conference in Japan. Also, I planned (the book) from a though to introduce good tourist spots in Korea after watching that Japanese fans returned to Japan after having the events, and the reason why the book concept became cultural travel book or book about experience is because I thought that the places that one might pass by without paying much attention would be meaningful if there is prior understanding of culture, feeling, and people of Korea, before introducing famous spots and restaurant with tasteful foods.

▶ Did you really write the book by your self from the beginning to the end.

Asking Ryu Sihyeon, master of ceremony, (Have you read book? How was it?) I wrote it personally.

▶ What are the selection criteria on the contents that are introduced in the book, and how much are you satisfied.

Fields that I was curious about and fileds that I liked. Several of them were from recommendations. None of them was produced unreasonably but they were naturally accomplished as if riding on a flow. The process of meeting one person after another by reading books, reading newspaper, and by introduction from someone, was the very destiny (karma) in my thought. It is difficult to be satisfied, isn't it. Because it is always wanting, I can be satisfied in next
